“Don’t design for everyone. It’s impossible. All you end up doing is designing something that makes everyone unhappy.” — -Leisa Reichelt
About me Let me introduce me to you
This is me in the year of 2011... Name: Peggy Ng. (Nguyen Thi Minh Ngoc) Hometown: Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam DoB: 1989-07-21 Email: nguyen.t.minh.ngoc@gmail.com
Education:
Le Hong Phong Highschool for the Gifted Bachelor of Art Industry, National Taitung University, Taiwan
I first got into art since highschool, starting with graphic design. It was one of my hobbies back then. It helped me get through all the stress and pressure from school. When I went to college, I chose Art Industry as my major, and then got the chance to learn more about tradional arts such as drawing, painting and photography which made me realize what I expected to get from doing art. To some young people nowadays, art can be used as a way of commercial. That’s why graphic design and multi media are so popular these days. However, to me, art is just my way to express my feelings. We shouldn’t have any pressure from making art, because there are no good or bad artworks. What matters is not the outcome, but how much we enjoy while dong it.
Work Experience:
Freelance photographer + graphic designer (2010 - now) Le Reve Wedding Studio (HCMC, Vietnam) photographer assistant/ stylist/ photo editor (Jul, 2011 - Jun, 2012) Art Zone Ltd. (Singapore) part-time art teacher (Sep, 2012 - Jan, 2013)

Graphic Design
This is what I started out doing when I first got into art. I admired those wonderful fan art that I saw on the internet. Then slowly I wanted to make my own pieces for my favourite celebrities. I was still a little girl back then, huh? Just wanted to follow what everyone was doing, never thought that one day I can be sitting here making a portfolio. In 2007, I became a moderator of a Vietnamese music forums, where I got a chance to design the banners, posters for most of the activities we arranged. My style is mostly inspired by the tradional collage art, and Photoshop was the only tool that I used back then.

Illustration
I don’t have great drawing skill, and I admire those who has it. However, I try to practise it whenever I’ve got a chance to. My sketches are quite simple, but there are always some meanings behind each one of them. I only started drawing since college, so there are not so many of them. But I love every piece that I made. Really proud of myself somtimes, haha... The tools that I often use for my illustrations are Wacom Intuos3, Painter, Photoshop and Illutrator.

The reason I love photo-manipulation is that it’s a great way to make our imagination come true. There seem to be no limit in photo-manipulation. With the right stock images and a little bit of Photoshop skills, you can easily illustrate your last night dream, or any unreal things that you have in mind. Depends on the style that you choose (fantasy, conceptual, abstract, horror, etc.), your artwork can also express your feelings about the things/ events/ scenes that you’ve created. Actually it’s not a matter what tools you use to make great photo-manipulation, coz the most important tool is your imagination.

Photography
It was my dad who got me into photography. He bought me my first camera, a Nikon point n shoot one, when I was in highschool. Since then, I started to take picture of everything you can think of. I got my first DSLR, Canon EOS 450D, in the first year of college. It was when I found out taking photos wasn’t as easy as I’d thought. I spent hours online looking for tips and tricks on photography. It turned out you have to think about loads of things before pushing that tiny button. Ever since I started out on photography, the way I look at life seems to be different. I feel like everything becomes so bright, so beautiful, that I can’t help capturing every single moment of them. I feel pleasured for being alive.
