OUR CAMPUS SETTING
Forest Ridge is located atop Somerset Hill in Bellevue, Washington. Boasting 19 woodland acres, the campus is home to a 28-student boarding facility, digital media lab, fabrication and innovation shop, 300-seat theater and 5 high tech science labs.
HERE, SHE CAN. There is power in every girl. Welcome to Forest Ridge, the Sacred Heart School of Seattle. There’s no place else quite like us. Our students trust their own voices and lead from the heart. We empower girls to try, to lead and to succeed — and we’ve been doing it since 1907.
HERE, SHE CAN TRY. From her first steps on our 19-acre woodland campus, she will feel the difference. Teachers work together to challenge and support her in her studies, friendships and goals. Classes inspire her to think. Spaces empower her to dream, discover and do. Friends lift her up and make her laugh. She will trust herself more each day. She will see mistakes as opportunities to grow. She will raise her hand. She will try something new and find a passion. She will build with her hands, get out on the field, onto the stage and into the science lab. She will reveal her unique strengths. We will be there every step of the way with the tools she needs to thrive. Here, every family gets tailored one-on-one support. Every parent is a part of the team. Our Sacred Heart tradition nourishes our community and moves us to action. We believe a girl-centered education rooted in growth sets the foundation for a life of learning. Here, she will be amazed at all she can do.
“
We are all about empowering girls to discover what’s possible — to try new things and take appropriate risks, while learning what it means to be an advocate for yourself and others. The growth we see in our students is amazing. Girls really do transform.” Mandy Underhill, Middle School Humanities
HERE, SHE CAN LEAD. In the hearts of our founders, our teachers and parents, there is a belief that she will find the leader already inside herself. In the heart of our community, there is a place dedicated to making it happen. Our Center for Girls is engineered to empower girls through their Forest Ridge journey and beyond. This is not a typical classroom. The Center for Girls is a place and a belief, a distinctly Forest Ridge leadership-training hub with girlfocused programming, hands-on learning, support for families and — of course — fun. Across all campus activities our message is the same: Seek out your strengths, find your balance and follow your heart. Build your confidence, take the first step and watch your inspiration grow. We believe if she leads from her strengths, she will change the world. We will help her find those strengths so she can draw them out and watch them shine.
THE GIRLS’ SCHOOL ADVANTAGE
“
93% of girls’ school grads say they were offered greater leadership opportunities than peers at coed schools and 80% have held leadership positions since graduating from high school.” BNational Coalition of Girls’ Schools (NCGS)
“
All of our work here is about authenticity, and there isn’t any one way to lead for girls. We want girls to know how to be mindful of balance. We want them to know themselves, be guided by their hearts and have healthy relationships with themselves and others. Forest Ridge girls have an inner confidence, a sense of their own strengths and a desire to make a difference.” Betsy Briardy, Director of The Center for Girls
