WRITER’S RETREAT BRIEF: Reuse platform works are based on Sheerness Dockyard Church, which is a historic building dated back from 1828 and now remained as a fragmented shell enclosing a peaceful garden. The platform for me explores the attitudes and strategies toward the reclamation of the existing building. The questions appear to be what are the current ideas and theories to be applied tothe reusing realm? The German writer Uwe Johnson spent the last years of his life living on the isle of Sheppey. He left a small but highly influential body of work, incorporating translations and a series of his own novels. This project uses the church to house the archive, placing it at the centre of its operations, but bringing to life the collection through connecting it with a small public library, enticing the residents of the island to the church, and a residential retreat for four writers. The retreat provides a sheltered space, where contemplation, reflection and silence will nurture future literary figures.

NATURE LANDSCAPING AS MATERIAL PALLET ISLE OF SHEPPEY MAP
wIsle of Sheppey, is located at the mouth of the River Thames in Swale borough, administrative and historic county of Kent, England. Due to the special geographical location, the most distinguished landscape fearture is the large area of wetland . Therefore, to response the nature is one of the tasks in this project.

SITE ANALYSIS:
sketches and montage - old and new
This multi-media drawing aims to show the journey of approaching to the church. The most interesting part is that I read my journey as the series of different of layers, from the vegetation to the brick, from the natural to the human kind. The layers make scenes, and the scenes become the sequence of the experience.
corner (n.) late 13c., “place where streets or walls meet;” early 14c., “intersection of any two converging lines or surfaces; an angle,”
DRAWING OF THE CORNER
TOWARDS TO A NEW CORNERISM Corner is the being of the chamber. - < the poetic of space> A corner defines the convergence of non-parallel forms. Within every corner there are two distinct and often opposing conditions. A corner’s interior tends to unify space, while a corner’s exterior can divide space along its edge.
DECONSTRUCTION Based on the five elements of corner, I deconstructed them and recombine into twenty-five new model of a hybrid corner. These models helps to me explore a new spatial experience and also become materials to be transformed in the further design project.
GROUND FLOOR PLAN 1:100
THE PUBLIC LIBRARY The library is open to both the writers and local residents as well. it is located at the south side, occupying the two floors. It follows the moddule design as the original bay. The original windows and the skylight are contributed to creating a bright and comfortable reading space.
READING SPACE The ground floor is mainly providing individual reading, the bookshelves are installed on the old wall, while the tables are placed on the other side, whose arrangement considering of the the accessbilities. Moreover, the part beneath the window is designed as a sitting area - a cozy but reliable corner for reading.

Identies: The first floor is decribed as a ‘ book corridor’, which is supported by the cable hanging from the roof. The metal mesh floor and cables would remind people of walking on the decking. The bookshelves are insterted volume between concrete columns.

Inhabitation: The central courtyard is filled with water, which responsed to the concept of introducing the nature in the building. And also reveals the local special feature - ocean. In this way, the whole building is like a big ‘ ship’ floating on the sea.

EXTENSION TOWARS TO SEA The final part of the path is a long and narrow walkway extended from the courtyard and go towards to the sea. The sea is always important for the town and project as well. The walkway would go through one of the old window. It is the response of the the entrance, which brings people from the small woods in front of church and send people back to the nature again.

BREXIT PUB - THE PUBLIC BRIEF: Public house - Pub: a place for national ritual and revolution, a British Institution. In a Post Brexit Britain, we will speculate on what might be the pub become. My response is to explore the spirits of the conventional pub. The project is highly inspired by a local pub - Nag Heads. A cozy three-floor connected by a bar counter store, located at the South Kensinton. My proposal aims to enlarge this observation into a promenading architecture. In this way, I established a the connection betweeen the customers and bartenders, and put all the social activities on the big staircases. The site, a warehouse with one enclosed courtyard, is located on the commercial street in the east London. The brief is to choose one slide including the three levels as the base, and using models to explore the proposals.

CONCEPT MODEL The inspriation comes from the bar counter and the stairs in the nags head pub. I imagine that the circulation of people could become the main drinking area. In this way, the bar counter can expanded as part of customers’ journey, which serviced as a vertical staircase. The concept model aims to create a promenade space for drinking, communicating and social activities.

THE FIELD HOUSE BRIEF:
University of Liverpool
BA3 / Studio 1
Located at the suburb of the Wigan town, the site is surrounded by a large area of corn field. The brief is to design a weekend house for a family of three people. Embarcing by a scenic environment, the house is made up of several cubes linking by a outdoor corrior in order to capture the views. The house is extended from the its center, a fireplace, where the family spends time during nights. The living room and bed rooms occupied two wings. The brick facade make it disticnt from the yellow field and place a hope on the traditional countryside life.

Exhibitions -A democratic seat 2019 Kortirjk Design Week A set design for one A space for contemplation The plastic chair is distressed, distorted through extensive incisions, developed it’s own patina from years of use and probably even not your quintessential functional seat.. However, as the light reaches the chair’s surface, a visually illusive shadow appears on the white panel. The shadow is telling of our perception while the physical object speaks to the real world. Could this be an accurate representation of our world democracies? This installation resembles a set design, an experiment to question how democracy facilites the masses or lack thereof and how we consume politics particularly through media.
1000
Illusion Our focus was to create the set for our chair to be established, a specific location where it belongs, implementing additional parameters such as light, position, distance. In an atempt to implement the aspect of illusion in our project, while keeping in mind the definition of the word seat, we experimented with light and shadow. Shadow is for us admitedly a representation of an object, simultaneously is an easily manipulative one.
