The making of ‘The Tree of Maya’
The hotel Radisson Blu wanted huge sculpture behind their receptionist desk. The interior designer had planned to have a tree branch placed there, subsequently I was asked to produce this sculpture (tree). The search for the perfect tree to make a tree sculpture to fit through the widest door (5feet/7feet) took 3 week in the Maya forest. It had been cut down by the locals for firewood. We paid the land owners and got the permit to haul it out of the forest and drove the tree 3hours to our studio. This is the photo story of “The Tree of Maya”
