Cake/Choclates/Candy

Cakes One of the fun and timeless traditions in weddings is the smashing of the wedding cake between the bride & groom. This tradition originated in Rome, a cake was crushed over the bride’s head to secure the fertility of marriage. The cakes, at that time, were not eaten. It took King Charles II of England to present a wedding cake which was meant to be eaten, but the tradition of smashing a piece of cake into the face of the bride / groom has remained. Elite Cake Creations is a family owned and operated business that prides itself on rendering the most delicious and creatively designed cakes for weddings, as well as any other occasions. Elite Cake Creations has strived to perfect their ability to give their clients a custom cake with a unique design and rich flavor. Through their baking formulas, along with a strict quality control policy, Elite Cake Creations ensures that all of their cakes are of the highest standards.

Ten-point checklist for a Successful Wedding Reception! 1. Extensive Music Selection DJ companies should have an extensive selection of music suited to different age groups and tastes. 2. Digital Quality Speakers and Components: The quality of equipment used will have a direct impact on the success of the event and help motivate people to dance. 3. Fun, Expert, Well-dressed DJs The DJ is crucial to the overall quality of the event. Ask about dress code as some DJs wear tuxedos, some shirt and tie and some you’ll never know until the wedding day. 4. Personalized Interview Every reception truly has its own unique character. This is why it is crucial to request a personal interview about 2 weeks prior to the Wedding Day to go over music selections and the schedule of events. 5. Volume Control Ask the DJ how they will deal with this issue and sensitivity to your guests.

6. Referrals Any referral is a positive sign, but the best kind come from Catering and Sales Managers who get to see and compare all DJs on an equivalent basis. 7. Hidden Costs Companies that have complicated pricing plans or extra add-on’s should be reviewed with caution. All charges for extra services or equipment promised in the interview should be documented and clearly covered in company literature prior to signing a contract. 8. Contact with the DJ Service A DJ Service should be available for questions or be available for an interview at a convenient time for the customer. Full time DJ companies are usually very dedicated to customers as it is their sole livelihood. 9. Liability Insurance Ask the DJ if they are covered by liability insurance of some kind. 10. Visit the Music Studio The most important point has been saved for last. Visit the DJ Service to SEE and HEAR the 10 The Bridal YellowatPages 2011-12 difference in person their office. Florists

Flowers

Did you ever wonder where the tradition of the Brides Bouquet came from? In ancient Egypt, the bride had several bridesmaids. According to Egyptian mythology, they dressed as her copy in order to mislead the ghosts who were always looking to spoil the fun of the bride and her party, and cast bad spells. As an ultimate security measure, the bride had a heavily scented bouquet of flowers and herbs to protect her from the spirits! FLORAL TIPS: 1) One of the most important decisions is the color scheme around which to plan your wedding. 2) Establish a budget.

3) Plan from the Bride down, starting with the bouquet. 4) Keep the arrangements simple and elegant.

5) Keep the floral arrangements consistent, especially for bride & attendant flowers. 6) Look for a clustered group for centerpieces.

7) Candles should be unscented so they do not compete with the scent of the flowers.

8) Plan the quantity of the flowers to fit your location. Try to enhance the facility, not detract from it.

9) Consider the time and weather when deciding on flowers. 10) Consult with a wedding floral specialist.

These are just some of the tips to help you have the most beautiful wedding possible, enhanced with the perfect floral designs. Courtesy of: Le Fleur

Limousine

Limousines & Transportation You have spent months planning your wedding and the most important day of your life is finally here. You have double-checked with your minister, florist, caterer, disc jockey, and everything is perfect. It will be a beautiful day and one heck of a party! However, with all the excitement and planning have you forgotten the most important thing of all? Have you planned the time to be alone with your new husband or wife? This is your time, the time to be with your new spouse in the best setting possible. You need to plan something special; something unique; something grand. Your choice of limos will be a lasting memory from that first moment of marriage. find the right company that offers the best selection of luxury limos, including antiques, SUV and modern stretch limos. discuss the pick-up times, and the destinations they will offer. determine who will be included in the wedding party and plan the appropriate size to fit them all. Having someone left behind because the transportation was not big enough can be embarrassing. Then enjoy the day, and the luxury you deserve, as you embark on a new journey in life. 6 Helpful Wedding Day Photo Tips! Your photos and video are your memories, so you will want both of these mediums to run smoothly. Here are 6 tips based on 21 years of wedding photography experience.

1. Be on time! This probably is the most important issue of them all. Your wedding day is on a fine-tuned schedule with a lot of things going on and all your vendors have a time and place to be ready for you.

2. Makeup. Have your makeup artist use water-based foundations, as they don’t shine when flash photography is used. Use powder, if oil based foundations are used. Glitter or shimmer looks nice, but it can affect the picture and video quality such as little white spots all over your face. 3. flowers. Your “getting-ready shots” will look so much nicer if there are flowers in them, so I suggest you have the bridal bouquet, and any other flowers your bridal party will be holding, delivered to your getting ready location, NOT the ceremony location. The rest of the flowers can go to the ceremony or reception site. 4. Receiving line at the church. This usually takes about 20 minutes, time that could be used for the formal and portrait photographs. If possible, greet your guests at the reception, between the salad course and the main meal. Then, you can use that time to do all your table photos with your guests. Everyone likes that the bride and groom joined their table for a photo.

5. formal Photos. Today’s brides are mostly looking for a photojournalistic approach to their wedding photos. However, formal photos are still very important. This is something the families usually like. Keep it simple, just hold back the immediate family, include also the grandparents, and of course, the bridal party. 6. Let the professionals do their job! I know it has taken months, even years of planning to get to this point... your wedding day. It is a major moment in your life. You have booked each vendor because you liked what you saw; so let them do what they do best, and enjoy your wedding day. dance, socialize, celebrate and you will have one of the best experiences of your life! Videography

Video Keepsake The day of your wedding is a moment in time you will want to remember forever. Having a videographer there to capture the memories for you and your future generations

to enjoy is priceless. Videography captures the drama and emotion of your special day, allowing you and your loved ones the chance to relive your happiest moments again and again. Like your wedding photographs, you will want to place this treasured keepsake in the hands of a professional. Although, you may think your Cousin Kelly or Uncle Fred may be capable of capturing the cutting of the cake or the tossing of the bouquet you may only end up with a series of shots of feet. Nothing compares to a seasoned professional. Not only will a professional videographer have the experience and equipment necessary to deliver a sensational finished product but also you have the added bonus of the graphics and special effects they have in their bag of tricks. They can turn your video into a one of a kind masterpiece. In addition to capturing the wedding and reception, consider having the videographer create an audiovisual collage to be played at the reception with your choice of special songs. An on-screen presentation of your romance story by selecting photographs of you and your fiancé when you first met, as you fell in love, and as you planned your wedding. How about a collection of photographs of both the bride and groom growing up? Friends and family members will enjoy seeing these and are often included in these photos as well making them apart of the special day. What questions to ask?

• How long have they been in business? • Verify they bring back up equipment. • Do they have back up quality staff in the event they are sick or injured? • How long until you see your final product? • What type of video output system does the company use VHS, DVD, or HD? • What kind of special effects and graphics do they use? • Does the final video/DVD have indexes/menu options for your viewing?
