Project Brief & Concept Design a water tap and shower of a company of your choice. Your design should satisfy the corporate identity and reflect ‘style’ of that particular company. Study well and research the profile and identity of the company before starting your design. Any materials can be used and the cost can vary from big to small.

Designs are influenced by structural forms found in nature and the visual tension. Inspired by the Natural Motion of plants. It comprises two light fixtures, to establish natural development

The materials are carefully chosen (with an eye not only to performance but to environmental concerns and sustainability) and innovative new styles are wear-tested before they go out

To educate and encourage people to replace, modify, or supplement their automobile, public transit, or bike commutes with running.

Company Profile NIKE, Inc. fosters a culture of invention. We create products, services and experiences for today’s athlete while solving problems for the next generation.

Sustainability SUSTAINABILITY HAS BECOME A GAME-CHANGER FOR NIKE. We have a bold, audacious innovation ambition that fuels our creative design process, drives innovation and propels us into the future.

Ambition Double the business with half the impact. Sustainable innovation is a catalyst for revolutionizing the way we do business and an opportunity that’s been integrated across our business in policies, processes and products.

Innovation The world needs systematic change at scale. We have forecast the rate at which our emissions could increase if we were to follow a mind-set of “business-as-usual.” What becomes abundantly clear is that efficiencies alone will not suffice.

Low - Carbon Growth A sustainable economy is a low-carbon growth economy. Nike uses carbon as a leading indicator to assess sustainability, but we recognize sustainability goes way beyond carbon.

First, the input energy is spread throughout the part resulting in a more isothermal temperature distribution

Thermally conductive plastics can transfer heat like metals and ceramics in many applications

Mist Study The challenge Create an alternative to Nike’s Ice helmet and water pouring method. The benefits of cooling down the body by reducing body tempreture and increasing overall efficiency and and promote recovery during commute running.

The solution Integrate mist release mechanism into water refill fountain for cooling down effect. Position mist mechanism at 45 degree angle to face from top - left and right of face. Mist adjusted to 7 degree celsius ( normal room temperature)

The result The body would be cooled down, temperature reduced and over running efficiency improved with quicker healing benefits.

Alternatives to Nike’s Bizarre ‘Ice Hat’ Concept Helps Athletes Cool Down

18

The Great Case of

Benefits of Pouring water on Head helps the body cool down so the body can keep an constant internal temperature

cooling the head quickly will reduce the body’s core temperature more efficiently, promoting recovery and improving performance . This is key, because heat has a big impact on performance and muscle fatigue

As an aside, one reason why athletes are sometimes told not to throw cold water on their heads in the heat is the hypothesis that this actually negatively affects thermoregulation by ‘tricking’ the brain into thinking the body is cooler than it really is, setting up a negative feedback loop that leads to an increased core temperature. Whilst this does have some theoretical basis, it seems highly unlikely that in most situations it would be possible to chill the hypothalamus (part of the brain that controls your body temperature) to such low levels that it would actually do that, so it’s probably not something to worry about in most normal circumstances.

The water and installation will be coming out of the main water network

Transferable material of container will transfer the heat from the pipe to the container then ground

Insulation

Drain

Colour of the material will absorve heat thus heating water during colder months

water will be drained back into frame of container and through pick back into system

Material

Maintenance

Thermal - transfer plastic material that transfers heat from object to ground as effective as metals and ceramics

Light waight material open up the plexiglass

Maintainance Remove the transparent plexiglass

Material: The material is able to transfer heat and maintain normal room temperature to keep algae from growing

Plexiglas: The transparent plexiglas allows for light to pentrate the container regulating temperatures and maintaining coolness. Mains water travel’s long distances thus needs to be cooled once it reaches the fountain reducing disease build
