Please browse through the following pages to become familiar with this year’s offering of outdoor adventure, service-learning, and field study trips and programs throughout Southeast Asia. Peninsula Outdoor School’s courses are developed and delivered with the international school student in mind. Our schedules and curriculum are built from years of experience in working with school groups of all ages. We know what works and what doesn’t and continue to refine our existing programs and introduce new locations and itineraries each season in order to suit the ever-changing needs of the modern student.

Hike, climb, surf and paddle through beautiful locations throughout China and Southeast Asia. Each Adventure program balance Skills Instruction, Outdoor Athletic Experiences and Personal Development Sessions to give students of all ability levels a chance at learning new skills in a supportive atmosphere.
Field Studies There is no better place to study life sciences than in the field! Peninsula`s field studies are unique programs that bring learning groups to locations and ecosystem that students rarely see, even though they are readily accessible. Days are filled with engaging, hands-on activities carefully planned to bring the sciences to life.
Culture Adventures Culture adventure participants travel to and explore the history, customs and cultural landscapes of regional people groups at locations in Asia. Time learning about the background and livelihoods of local residents is balanced with activity blocks for adventure pursuits on area trails, lakes, rivers and mountains.
Service Learning More than just volunteering, Peninsula`s service learning trips encourage students to understand the drivers behind poverty and injustice "the needs", service should contain a deeper meaning than just poverty and injustice, and to know how to be part of a significant solution.

Full of lively culture, colorful markets and welcoming Khmer locals, the city of Siem Reap functions as program HQ as groups make daily trips to nearby sites to explore the iconic Angkor Wat temple complex, paddle Tonle Sap Lake, visit wildlife refuges and artisan communities and participate in construction and education service projects.
Now entering our fourth year in Cambodia, Peninsula has established relationships with local communities and charities in order to ensure high program quality and group outcomes. Experiential options include cycling, trekking, kayaking, Khmer cooking school, environmental field studies and an array of service options to suit all group sizes and program lengths. Accommodations are four-star and include a swimming pool to help enjoy Cambodia’s tropical climate. One of Peninsula’s newest destinations, Chiang Mai serves as an ideal adventure hub for a broad range of student ages and experience levels. Known globally for its world-class rock climbing, Chiang Mai is also home to excellent whitewater rafting, jungle hiking and mountain biking terrain. Chiang Mai also functions as a base to a large number of humanitarian organizations from which a significant amount of service work throughout Thailand is planned and managed.

A unique opportunity to experience one of the world’s emerging travel and adventure destinations. Ignite a passion for all things Sri Lanka in an authentic environment rich in culture and history and packed with opportunities. These include exploring the ruins and paintings left from years of conflict, as well as adventure programs within Yala National Park - a designated wildlife sanctuary – and the Habarana Jungle, which is heavily populated by elephants. Bixue Lake, an uncut crystal jade, hides in the quiet mountains near Lin`an, Hangzhou. The Bixue Lake region is isolated from urban sprawl and surrounded by green hills covered with bamboo. It serves as an excellent base camp for outdoor experiences, particularly for younger students. Here students can learn kayaking on the calm waters of Bixue Lake, study agriculture and ecosystems as they help to plant crops in the neatly-arranged fields and take hikes among vast bamboo forests. Learn about outdoor living and survival skills and play teambuilding games in the broad grassland. An ideal setting for large-group programs looking to maximize their time away from the city.

Motivate, engage and reward your students with a Peninsula trip to Shenzhen, home to China’s Dapeng Peninsula. Enjoy an exciting range of water-based activities and field studies in and along the clear waters of the Dapeng Peninsula shoreline, and bring home motivated students with new outdoor skills and confidence. Learn kayaking, snorkeling and paddleboarding skills through training from our expert instructors. Collect geographical and ecological data from the coastal region as a part of a coastal field study or in conjunction with UNESCO’s Sandwatch program.
