Thank you, PPMC!

We’re E-lated!

Between the People’s Emergency Center (PEC), Penn Presbyterian, and the community (over 20 neighbors) this months’ Community E-cycling Day collected over 2,000 pounds of electronics! PEC also raised $86 through donations at the event to help support their Digital Inclusion after-school program! This program offers free computer time/access to children in our community. Thanks to Kevin Musselman, the PEC Manager who led the effort, and sat out in the cold to manage the event. The event was a great success, and we look forward to partnering with PEC again in the future.

MLK Day Toiletry Drive for Behavioral Health In the spirit of Dr. King’s legacy of community service, the Cultural Diversity Committee is collecting toiletries for patients discharged from PPMC’s Behavioral Health Department. We are requesting donations of toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, deodorant, combs, brushes, and other hygiene items, as well as men’s and women’s socks. Drop-off boxes are located in Room 489 and on the Detox Unit of Wright Saunders and in Room 436 (the EP suite) of the Philadelphia Heart Institute. The Toiletry Drive runs through February 15, 2013. When doing your holiday shopping, pick up a few extra toiletry items or socks for our patients in the Behavioral Health Department. With your generosity and kindness, we will be able to provide many more patients this year with these much-needed items. For more information, contact Colleen.Bynum@uphs.upenn.edu or ext. 8899 or Bette.Haitsch@uphs.upenn.edu or ext. 9487 (PHI).
