Back to School Drive Join the Addiction Treatment Services team in helping those less fortunate by donating school supplies. In the weeks leading up to the new school year, the team is collecting note books, writing utensils, loose leaf paper, and book bags. They are also asking for both bottled water and sodas. This is our chance to show the surrounding community and beyond we are here for them and ready to help. For your convenience, all donations may be dropped off on Wright 4, Addiction Treatment Services, or at the NAC office on the first floor of the Wright Saunders Building. The deadline for donations is August 21.
Holy Cross Baptist Church hosts a week-long day camp each summer for teens 12-19 in the Overbrook section of Philadelphia. Programs include better health through diet and exercise, safe sex, prenatal care and parenting, and coping with violence and abuse. Funds will allow purchase of a “drug-addicted baby” simulator for use in parenting classes and other health-related items. Anthony Bracey - Give Back The Give Back program assists ex-offenders in fulfilling their community service and completing their addiction program by volunteering at the SPCA. Animals receive needed attention, participants acquire skills which may lead to animal care jobs, and they receive therapeutic value from their interactions with the animals. Funding supports transportation costs to the facility and some animal expenses. Congratulations to all the winners! Helen Chavar
