Beaver Stadium B
eaver Stadium, the home of the Nittany Lions, is one of the nation’s premier football venues. An expansion and renovation prior to the 2001 season added more than 12,000 seats, increasing the stadium’s capacity to 106,572 and easing the waiting list for season ticket requests from Penn State fans. The second-largest stadium in the nation, the renovation and expansion added rest rooms and concession facilities, new scoreboards with instant-replay capability, and improved handicap access and pedestrian circulation patterns. The most noticeable changes are 60 enclosed skyboxes in a three-level structure above the East stands and an 11,500-seat upper deck in the South end zone. The stadium continues to be renovated and updated to keep up with the times. The latest installments include a videoboard project with a 35’ x 25’ back-lit logo for the North and South ends of the stadium. The sign is lit by more than 1,400 LED lights and overlooks Park Avenue, making the stadium clearly visible from the highway. Public Address System No personal appeals will be made over the public address system. Refreshments Refreshments are sold by vendors and at concession stands located throughout the stadium. Recycling Recycling receptacles for cans and bottles are provided in and around the stadium. Please be environmentally responsible by seeking and using them. Restrooms Restrooms are located throughout the stadium. Family restrooms are located on the main concourse and South upper concourse. Medlar Field at Lubrano Park A
new chapter in Penn State baseball began with the completion of the state-of-the-art Medlar Field at Lubrano Park, the home of the Nittany Lion baseball team. The facility -- completed in June of 2006 -- is arguably one of the best collegiate stadiums in the country. Situated in the shadow of Beaver Stadium, Medlar Field is added to Penn State’s “athletic campus” being developed on the Northeast edge of campus. Along with the gigantic home of Penn State football, “the Med” joins the Bryce Jordan Center, the Multi-Sport Indoor Track Facility, the brand new Astroturf Field and the newly renovated Jeffrey Field to form a collection of athletic facilities that rival any in the nation. Located within the walls of Lubrano Park is anything and everything that a Division I baseball team needs to be successful. A spacious clubhouse welcomes the Nittany Lions with roomy wooden lockers, an expanded training room, a weight room and team lounge. Just a few steps away from the locker room door is the entrance to what may be the most important room in the stadium when practice starts in early spring: the indoor batting cage. Standing two stories high and nearly half a football field in length, the cage also includes two dirt mounds for pitchers to work off of in inclement weather and opens directly into the Penn State bullpen on the right field line. Seating capacity for Medlar Field is 5,406 and 20 luxury suites allow area companies to treat clients and friends to an unmatched baseball experience. A party deck along the right field line provides a good place
for friends to gather and the picnic pavilion beyond the left field fence is perfect for birthday parties and group outings. Much like the rest of the park, the dimensions of the playing field are unique as well. A relatively short 325 feet to the left field pole stretches out to the deepest part of the park, the 410 foot nook in left center field. Straightaway center is 399 feet and the 320 foot right field fence is made more daunting with an 18.55 feet high wall, which commemorates the year Penn State was founded. A 2,500 square foot press box can accommodate traveling and local media and has private broadcast booths for up to three radio teams. A large video scoreboard towers above the left field wall capable of providing up to the minute stats and video replays.

SKIING, SNOWMOBILE, ATV TRAILS Tussey Mountain All-Season Resort
T
ussey Mountain was originally operated as a public ski area under the name of Skimont during the 1960’s. After sitting idle for a few years, the mountain was re-opened as a private club in the mid 1970’s under the name Bald Knob Ski Club. In 1981-82 the mountain was reorganized and opened again publicly as Tussey Mountain Ski Area, a name now synonymous with quality skiing to area residents. Since then the mountain has grown both in size and sophistication of operation. Today, Tussey Mountain has skiing on 50 acres with three ski and snowboard lifts and one snowtube lift. Our snowmaking system covers 90% of our skiable terrain, as does our slope lighting. Instruction is offered through our PSIA member Snowsports School, first-aid services through our NSP member Ski Patrol, a complete Rental Shop, on-site Ski Shop, as well as well-organized junior racing programs. We are typically open for skiing, boarding, and tubing in December, running through middle (to late ) March. Ski the slopes when the snow is falling, and drive the go carts when the temperatures are soaring. Take advantage of all the aspects that Tussey has to offer: Skiing, golf, driving range, batting cages, mini-golf, go-karts, skate park, fishing, paddle boats, and an amphitheater with weekly “Movies on the Mountain”. Enjoy a great meal at the Lodge. Also, use this unique space for banquets, weddings and reunions!
