HALL: What Price is your Vote Worth? Quit Playin’ By Vincent Hall By Vincent L. Hall
The thematic thread in penning my opinions over the past 13 years has been a tireless attempt at transparency. I cannot suffer the loss of the six or so loyal readers that I claim because I come off as disingenuous or phony. I rendered this confidential email and rather than be outted by Putin et al, I decided to publish it. Transparency will have a whole new appearance in the new vistas of cyberspace that we are about to embark upon. So on the eve of the most consequential election of my generation, let me be plain; I’m for her! Hell, I was actually for Hillary Rodham Clinton eight years ago before the Brother with the big ears showed up. Dearest Comrade, “I’m with her” for a few reasons, but the weightiest of them is because Hillary Clinton should be the 45th President and the first to swear the solemn oath without ever donning a pair of boxers or briefs. To put it bluntly, I am tired of the White and male domination of America’s professional, professorial and political landscape.
4
I have three daughters and never petitioned the Lord for sons. Donald Trump, in all of his blithering splendor evinces my argument against the succession of mixed nuts (no pun intended) that hold sway and rank over all three branches of our government. In his December 10, 2015 piece, my man, my role model, my “Nicca”; Dr. Michael Eric Dyson proffered a great editorial; “Hillary’s White Privilege will make her a better President for Black America.” If you aren’t convinced that “White privilege” makes a difference, ask yourself if Barack Obama can casually pop a Tic Tac, grab any ass he wants and brag about it on tape. Only a rich White male could be so openly racist, misogynistic, and unapologetically ignorant and expect to win the nomination of his party and this presidency. DJ Trump asserted himself the only pimp in the GOP’s “ho” game and nobody challenges
him. Anyway…here’s what the HuffPost reported. “In “Yes she Can”, Dyson’s latest piece for The New Republic, the Georgetown professor details Clinton’s journey on racial issues and predicts that, despite her husband’s problematic legacy on race — exemplified by his crime and welfare reform policies — Clinton will have the chance to push change in ways that eluded Obama. Dyson argued that Clinton, free from the stigma of blackness and the potential for perceived bias, would be able to speak more freely on issues of race than Obama ever could. “She won’t have to make apologies in advance, a priori, [and say], ‘It’s not about black people...’” Dyson said. “Hillary Clinton doesn’t bear that guilt, doesn’t bear that consciousness, doesn’t bear that kind of charge to be made: ‘Hey, you’re trying to hook up your people!’ Well, black people are
not her people, but she’s able, as a result of white privilege, to speak to the interests of black people in ways that were denied to Barack Obama.” I would go further than Dyson to conjecture that Mrs. Clinton would be of similar benefit to all non-WASPs. But even if she doesn’t get a bill passed, at least girls and young women of every hue and hairstyle will have the boundaries of their dreams enlarged. As someone who has been fortunate enough to get halfway up the corporate ladder in a Fortune 100 company, let me assure you that no woman; no matter how smart, how significant or how “well-endowed”, gets to the top without being head and shoulders above her male counterparts. There are some women and men who have slept their way toward success, but there is a ceiling for that form of cunning and upward mobility. Hillary Rodham-Clinton is the consummate woman, mother and political scientist and I’m with her…Period. But you make your own choice! Vincent Hall is an author, activist and award-winning journalist.

Breast Cancer Awareness Contest Winners announced
Nova Academy announced winners of its inaugural “Sparkle in the Cure” Bra Decorating Contest, culminating the end of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Nakayla Chapple, a 6th grader, won First Place and a $100.00 gift card. Anahi Ramirez, 7th grader, won Second Place and a $50.00 gift card. Janayla Romero, 7th grader, placed third with a $25.00 gift card.
Nova Academy initiated the “Sparkle in the Cure” Bra decorating contest to raise Breast Cancer Awareness at an early age. The project was an extension of Nova’s Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign. Nineteen 5th -8th grade female students volunteered to compete in the inaugural year. The students used their own talents WWW.MYIMESSENGER.COM
and imagination to convey their support for Breast Cancer Education. Five judges ranked (1). Utilization of the Bra Space (2). Creativity (3). Originality, (4). Detail, (5). Overall design and, (6). Conveyance of Breast Cancer Awareness message. The decorated bras were on display at the school October 14, 2016 – October 31, 2016. Nova Academy’s Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign was started a few years ago by teacher Sade Burkman. Her aunt died from the disease. In 2015, Mrs. Burkman and students designed a t-shirt for the observance. The “Sparkle in the Cure” was added this year in partnership with Janice Jackson, a Breast Cancer Awareness Advocate who decorates and displays bras throughout the year. Mrs. Jackson’s cousin died from breast cancer. “This is a great opportunity for
young ladies and men to understand the impact and consequences of this disease that affects one in eight women born in the U.S. The sooner we make them aware, the better.” Mrs. Jackson said. “What better way than through artistic expression”, she added. Donna Houston-Woods, Nova AcademyCEO named the signature event.

NOVEMBER 4, 2016 I Messenger Baron Davis, Two-Time NBA Star, Entrepreneur, launches new Start-up- The Black Santa Company
Company focused on promoting positive role models– all year round Los Angeles – Baron Davis, the two-time NBA All-Star and entrepreneur, has launched The Black Santa Company, a start-up company to promote positive role models with the aim to inspire and entertain the African American audience – and the world. “This is a character-focused company that I want to use to expand people’s imaginations,” said Davis, a product of South Central Los Angeles, where he credits his success to sports, film, great cartoons and a vivid imagination. “We live in a world that needs a constant reminder of hope and positivity, particularly in neighborhoods like where I grew up. I want to give people the ability to dream and imagine something different. I want to make people feel good
about themselves.” The Black Santa Company offers contemporary twists to traditional characters for a world that is becoming increasingly diverse. Davis intends to serve the roughly $100 billion Christmas market for African Americans, which de-
Baron Davis spite its size is still underserved. The company’s initial product
suite will offer a range of products, including ornaments, wrapping paper, as well as limited apparel. Beyond the holiday season, people will be able to engage with the brand through social media and video content, highlighting positivity and good in their communities. The company will offer relevant content, characters, and product year-round, starting with its the campaign #GivingHasNoSeason. Click here to listen to these testimonials. You're free to post any of these videos on the website. “With all that’s going on in this country, and particularly in the African-American community, I want to offer heroes and role models through storytelling. Black Santa is the first character. His mission is to celebrate diversity, the joy of giving and the magic of good. He’s here to bring people together and have fun. So while I may not be making moves on the basketball
