Obituary of Emmett “Ronnie” Weathersby I WAS LOST BUT NOW I AM FOUND
Emmett “Ronnie” Weathersby, was born on August 14, 1952 in Shelby, Mississippi. He was the third of nine children born to Matteel Weathersby Brown. He confessed his faith in Christ at an early age and was baptized at Zion Grove M.B. Church in Shelby, Mississippi. Emmett attended Broad Street High School and graduated in 1972. He was a superb athlete and excelled in football and basketball. He was a member of the Broad Street High School 1972 Basketball State Championship Team and he was also one of the team’s top scoring players that year. After graduating from Broad Street High he was drafted to Arizona University, where he stayed for two years. Ronnie joined the United States Army in 1974 where he stayed for the next four years. In 1978 he moved North to (Chicago and Milwaukee) where he became self-employed as a scrap metal collector. On September 10, 1995, he was joined in holy matrimony with Tonya Rorie. Emmett was pronounced dead on Wednesday April 13, 2016, due to complication with diabetes. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Emmett and Mary Weathersby, and brother Louis Weathersby. He leaves to cherish his memories, his mother Matteel Weathersby Brown (Shelby, Ms); wife Tonya (Milwaukee ,WI); daughter Chenequa (Memphis, TN); son Emmett Jr. (Milwaukee, WI); two sisters Shirley (Larry), (Las Vegas, NV) and Debra (Vernell), (Fort Worth, TX); five brothers Harry (Vicki),( Houston, TX); Walter (Annette), (Cleveland, MS); Ardes (Las Vegas, NV); Frederick (Rochelle), (Dallas, TX); and Anthony (Faye), (Dallas, TX); one uncle James (Dianna), Las Vegas, NV); four grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
