Student Reactions “This summer was the most life-changing summer I have ever had…On my return, I sat on the plane contemplating how much my mind had been stimulated, my passions triggered, and my heart filled.” – BRITTANY TAYLOE, School of Public Policy

“This summer in Israel has impacted who I am becoming as a person more than any experience in my life to date.” - SEAN CONRAD, Seaver College “My eyes and thoughts have been opened to many sides of life, viewpoints, and ideas. I trust I’ve merged stronger—better equipped to empathize and to understand. I received a firsthand education that does not compare with any classroom. We all come from many different places, but really, there is more to us that is the same than that is different. We have many of the same needs and the same goals of happiness, peace, and fulfillment.”

– JANET VALENCIA, School of Public Policy “I was awestruck by the cross section of humanity that existed within such a small area. Tourists, ultra-orthodox Jews, and Muslims are all there to experience these sacred places. It was this sentiment that made the experience awe-inspiring, especially upon later reflection at the end of the day.”

“I have seen more than I ever could have hoped to have seen—from climbing into an army tank in the hills of the Golan Heights, to swimming in the Dead Sea and hiking Masada, to eating lunch in a Druze home in the Carmel Mountains, to walking through crusader tunnels in Akko, to sipping coffee in the German colony in Haifa, to visiting a Moshav along the border of Gaza, to soaking up the sun on the beaches of Tel Aviv, and bargaining in the markets of Jerusalem. I’ve met all sorts of people, picked up a rough grasp of basic Hebrew, gained new perspectives, and eaten some of the freshest, most delectable foods.”
