PEPPERDINE IS POSSIBLE Your Road Map to Financial Assistance

WITHIN YOUR REACH Your education is an investment in yourself, your career, and your financial future that will last a lifetime. Although the University believes that families and students have the primary responsibility for meeting the cost of an education, the Office of Financial Assistance is dedicated to providing the tools and resources necessary to help bridge the gap between the cost of Pepperdine and the family’s contribution.

APPLYING As you begin to think about applying to colleges, it is important to educate yourself about the financial aid process. This means taking note of important deadlines, understanding your eligibility, and learning more about the different types of aid available.

BORROWING TIPS As you navigate the financial assistance process, it is a good idea to determine what is realistic for you and your family to borrow. Although this decision is unique to your family, it may be helpful to know that the average national student loan indebtedness is approximately $30,000. While student loans are a useful tool, you can significantly reduce your loan indebtedness by borrowing to cover only your education-related expenses. It is also important to consider your total loan costs, which include the principal amount borrowed plus accrued interest. Please visit our website for sample repayment charts to see what your monthly loan payments might look like. seaver.pepperdine.edu/financial-aid

Pepperdine contributed approximately $81 million in University-funded grants and scholarships for undergraduate students during the 2018–2019 academic year. The average annual grant and scholarship package per year for the incoming class of 2018 was $28,300.
