LIGHT WEIGHT

Shh... This product is designed for firemen and other emergency services. This lamp is an overall light and a spotlight. The light is made to stand-out in extreme weather conditions and to work on supply for the present multipartly lighting systems. A car crash is a huge risk for a fireman? Yes, nowadays cars are designed to be devastated to help saving the driver in an accident and to accomplish this the metal bends by small detonators that are planted all over the cars’ framework.

position - eventually by a fireman - and to prevent this must one have a visual and a hearing contact with the bending metal. While the present lighting systems are heavy, noisy and consists of several parts, this light is in one piece, has great ergonomics and is light too, a total weight of approxiamately as little as: 9.5kg. During my design process I defined Hilti as my target company and designed the product to fit in Hilti’s design dna.

Though, sometimes these does not go off not before something pulls them in a right

privacy in a crowd 2014

The problem

In mass-events people might have difficulties to find a spot where they can chat relaxed and semi-privately. Imagine a situation where you have just finished a great pitch for a full house and are now eager to confer the investors. Usually these places are found on the edges of the event because people are not interested to go there. In the lack of interesting action and

chance to run into another interesting person gets substantially small. So, I wanted to create something that keeps people in the mass but gives them a chance to escape the crowd. The yearly held Helsinki based entrepreneur conference Slush was my prior target-event for the project.

multi functional bicycle lock 2014

Additional lock needed The major factor I found out was that people locked (mostly) their bicycles with two locks. The most important was to lock the bicycle body which was locked either in: something solid or just between the tire and the body. The lock between the tire and the body were either builtin or an extra lock they carried with them, either in a bag, on the handlebar or in an attached rack.

Secondly people were afraid to lose their front wheel, so they locked it with another lock. With this information I was later able to decide if I wanted to design a fixed or an extra lock. Then I started measuring bicycles to find out the average size to determine where the lock could be located and how big it could be.

chocolate 2010 – 2016

A Norwegian chocolate company to whom I designed the taste of the Month May 2014.

Food design? Few years ago I was awarded with a 5,000 â‚Ź scholarship for my chocolate production. It took some time to achieve that, what did I do? Everything started when my mother introduced me to a family recipe from my great great grandmother. This fudge is a secret weapon to make anyone smile. The joy of giving and seeing the receivers face turn into a happy grin pushed me forward. The next step to the chocolate world was when I started to enrobe my fudge with chocolate and then my fudge turned out as a ganache, as the chocolate fillings are called. And that set the stage for me to go deeper into the world of tastes, so I started carefully studying recipes, which made it easy

for me to develop new ones. Every once in a while someone had a birthday party and that got me into serving cakes and other plated experiences. My main goal in chocolate has been to make something that vanishes immediately and does not put too much strain on the environment. Therefore one of my central goals has been to design a chocolate bar with packaging that is totally decomposionable. That would allow shops that sell my product to throw the whole product in the compost when they expire and which would as well maximize the effectivity in working time and minimize the carbon footprint.

A packaging I designed in a collaboration with a recognized Swedish furniture company.

While working with my Nelinkantin chocolate I have confronted many aspects of branding: producing, packaging, mould-making, storytelling, selling and marketing. chocolate

pi stool for modern finnish home

a chandelier for swedish market

2016

2014

Work in progress.

Work in progress. IMPORTANT DETAILS

I wanted to get my chandelier to appear as an old-style massive luminare to keep the conservative chandelier users interested but make it as well light and modern. I adapted the important diamond shape, put the light source quite low to maximize the amount of light downwards (far right) and then I played with the idea to decorate the outer circle as in the old-style chandeliers.

PI Stool is a combination of a classical farmer stool and a sophisticated straight lined furniture resulting in a modern cut for a Finnish home.
