Perched on a unique ridge called “Worlds View” on the most northerly point of the San Sebastian Peninsula, the lodge is positioned within the Vilanculos Coastal Wildlife Sanctuary. Imagine sunlight scattering off the ever-changing turquoise tides. Picture the lazy ocean traffic of local Dhows criss crossing over emerging sandbanks. From this precious vantage point, about 60m above the high-water mark, you can enjoy arguably one of the best views in Mozambique.

Azulik overlooks the Portuguese Bazaruto Archipelago and the Wildlife Sanctuary, which comprises 30 000 hectares of pristine Marine and Wildlife territory, is the first privately managed, specially protected National Park in Mozambique. With its four semi-rigid thatched tents, each with an en suite bathroom and outdoor shower, the lodge is ideally suited to a family of up to eight or groups of friends. Bungalows with private platforms allow you to soak up astonishing views and deeply comfortable beds under mosquito nets offer rest and respite.The main living space offers an outside-in experience overlooking the Bazaruto islands. Hammocks, hanging beds, and sunken seating surround the refreshing infinity pool. There’s access to a private cook and butler and delicious meals made with fresh, local produce are served in the dining room or around the boma under star-studded skies.

The outdoorsy lifestyle embraces adventurous activities centred around the beautiful beaches or the wildlife sanctuary, accessed by game viewing vehicles. Sundown game drives are a big hit. Kitesurf, swim or snorkel down to magnificent reefs or island hop to Bange, Magaruque, Linen and Cowrie Point, where you can spot whale sharks at certain times. Further afar are the Benguerra, Bazaruto, Paradise and Pansy Islands. On a typical day there’s no hurry to achieve anything.
