Today the secret of Croatia is long out – abundant with vibrant history, ancient architecture and exquisite coastline for days the country has, with good reason, become a well-documented and much loved destination. There remains in Croatia an authentic rawness which leaves travellers feeling they made a connection with the locals and experienced the real thing. This is certainly true for Lopud – a tiny island, under five square kilometres, which one traverses on foot or by bicycle. And it is here that we have uncovered a rather special home.
