About Mungo
Mungo is an original homeware textile company, founded by Master weaver Stuart Holding in 1998. Today it is now a family run business crossing generations. Their production takes place at the Mungo Mill in Plettenberg Bay where they blend old with new, using antique looms alongside more modern weaving technology.
In 2020 Mungo became the first Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) certified mill in South Africa. GOTS is the world-leading textile processing standard for organic fibres. It ensures the highest level of environmental and social criteria, from harvesting, to socially responsible manufacturing, providing a credible assurance along the entire supply chain.
