A Rare
Gem
An original thatched house from the West Coast, known as a ‘long house’ – it will steal your heart. Panorama is a rare gem nestled amid modern Langebaan! Panorama has the most wonderful views of the lagoon all turquoise blues and whites. The walls are really really thick reminding you that it probably belonged to a lucky fisherman! The original houses had huge fireplaces and chimneys for the kitchen and lounge at one end and the bedrooms were all in a row at the other end. All very simple!
Beautifully restored, the décor is gorgeous, simple and comfortable. Wide open fireplace, high ceilings with wide wooden beams, old quarry tiles on the floor, big comfy white couches, luxury linens on the beds means that the whole family will absolutely love their holidays. Panorama is a five minute walk from the beach and in the heart of old Langebaan and of course up the hill from the yacht club! Take your sailing shoes, your bicycles, your deck chair for grandpa.
The property was part of the original Myburgh family farm. The ‘main’ house used to be a large storage barn. Its original structure is thought to be older than 350 years as it features in drawings of the region done in the late 1600’s during the Battle of Saldanha. The renovated ‘Farmhouse Hotel’ was the main homestead of the huge farm. Exposed roof trusses, thick whitewashed walls and many other fabulous old features.
