There are also 3 or 4 gas heaters No TV No signal – you will have to drive to Sutherlands for signal Wi-Fi & landline so can communicate on Whatsapp on your cell No electricity - solar power in some of the rooms, lanterns in others
Check-in 2 pm Check-out 10 am Early check-in / late check-out offered when possible One game drive per day by the super farm manager, Cecil, is included in the rate. Please note the Land Rover can only accommodate 9 guests. Extra game drives can be arranged, minimum 4 guests @ R100 per guest. Sundowner drives are sublime and the Land Rover is fitted with cool boxes and cups, plastic wine glasses, bowls, knives, cutting board, bottle opener etc if you wish to selfcater. Catered option available on request.
The farm is available in its entirety for guests to walk, cycle, self-drive. There is currently a white mountain bike trail, a red trial will be completed soon. Expect to see gemsbok, springbok, black wildebeest, ostrich and baboon. You may also see kudu, common duiker, hartebeest, blesbok, aardvark, jackal, rooikat, aardwolf, brown hyena, African wildcat, scrub hare, bat eared fox and mongoose although these animals are far more elusive. The Tankwa region is known for its good birding and there are approximately 180 bird species in the area. Take a night off kitchen duty - Tankwa’s fantastic farm manager will cook you some wholesome farm fare - ask for the menu and arrange prior to arrival please.
NB You need to bring your own drinking water please 3 baskets of wood provided per day PLEASE NOTE THAT WOOD IS A VERY LIMITED NATURAL RESOURCE IN THE KAROO AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE IF
