They’ll do all of the work to lock in your room rates and confirm your wedding date and details with the resort. Then they’ll help manage getting all of your guests’ travel arrangements booked. The wedding coordinator at your destination venue will take care of planning all of the event specifics that would otherwise take up a lot of your time. Many resorts have pre-planned packages you

can choose from to make it even easier, but you can still customize the details so that it’s precisely what you want.

I’m a DIY kind of person. Can a wedding planner still help me?

If you are crafty and feel you can execute your vision on your own, that’s awesome. My experience is that usually the logistical details end up getting set aside while you are spending all your time on the creative side of the event. Day of coordination is a service that is part of a wedding planner’s overall job. It entails making sure that all of the logistics, details, and day of schedule are carried out on time and in the correct way. Many people mistake the term “day of“ coordination as literally meaning that all of the work is done on the day of the wedding. Actually, there are many hours of work spent well before the big day communicating with the entire vendor team and venue, confirming and re-confirming every little detail, to be sure that on the day of your wedding everything goes smoothly. Perhaps we should replace the term “day of “coordinator with “month of” coordinator. This might provide a more accurate expectation to couples seeking this service.
