NORMAdot Authentic and timeless Danish design 100% hand drawn, printed and sewn in Denmark working as a embroidery designer and illustrator for danish magazines i decided in 2010 to learn the art of screen printing, i soon combined my drawing and screen printing skills into decorative pillows for my two children, family and friends.
Driven by my experience, travels and love for design i created normadot offering effortless unique artistic style for children`s interiors. My designs are me and my family. They represent what I love about Denmark and more.I design products and choose colours that I would love to live with and things that make me smile. Little by little normadot has grown to become a full line of silk screen printed quality products for children slowly moving into home accessories for the entire home as well. All our fabrics are designed in Denmark , each product is functional, unique and of exceptional quality. The collection is made the old fashioned way; silk screened by hand, using hand mixed eco friendly pigments from Danish Universal color *and beautiful soft 100% oeko tex cotton.These traditional techniques and natural fibers work perfectly to complement modern, nordic inspired prints in a delicious palette.
This product is Formaldehyde free, APEO free and contains no phthalates, making it a first choice for Ă–kotex 100, and EU-Flower. *
The process
Hand screened nordic design
I always start a design using paper, pencil or paint. And although i have been working with silk screen printing for over 8 years now, i still get a thrill from the first pull of the squeegee through the paint of a new screen.Lifting up the screen from a new design for the first time is always exciting. Each colour is hand mixed in the studio. I use water based, solvent free pigments and have a sustainable, low impact approach to materials and practices. Normadot products are currently sold in selected stores worldwide.
