THE NEXT

OUR DNA

We have built an incredibly responsive organization that has indigenous staff in many parts of the world who speak the language and are persecuted themselves. We know when attacks happen and are able to quickly aid victims, work on their behalf in Washington DC, and shout to the world about their plight. We have become efficient at this work. We do it well. It is our calling and we will keep doing it.

THE NEED

Most people think persecution is only when a pastor is killed or imprisoned. Actually, persecution is a very systematic and multi-dimensional problem that involves generational poverty, massive educational deficits, job discrimination, denial of basic legal rights, lack of access to legal help, etc. These issues don’t capture headlines the way an imprisoned pastor or a church bombing does, but they are core to the persecution story and have devastating effects on entire Christian populations. All the issues listed above are best answered with long-term and strategic solutions from within the country. Providing education, vocational training, micro-loans, and legal services all help break the long-term issues of persecution. Our past work

1995 - ICC Birth

Advocacy

Reactive

8

1999 to Present

Assistance

2006 to Present

Awareness

has been tilted towards the reactive and short term (bandaging) as opposed to the strategic and long term (building). We started with advocacy, and then added assistance to our servcies. We then moved into awareness and built a reputation for being responsive and having reliable information about persecuted countries. We now have the largest news outlets in the world contact us on big cases. Next, we started hiring solid in-country staff on the ground, and most recently have begun to hire in-country directors which allow us to greatly expand our ability to serve the persecuted. We are now at the point in several key countries that we can really push villages and towns to another level by providing legal services (that greatly reduce false charges against Christians or bring persecutors to justice), education (scholastic and vocational) to move Christians forward in their societies, micro-lending (through talented partners) and a host of other services that will address long-term, endemic and entrenched persecution.

To address these needs, ICC will be opening several centers (Hope Houses) in the most persecuted countries. We are purposefully not mentioning which countries due to security concerns. We will be opening Hope Houses in the most persecuted countries where we already have strong staffing and partnerships and are doing amazing work serving persecuted believers. The goal is to address broad, multi-dimensional persecution with longer term projects (see the graphic) to strengthen, reinforce, and advance the Christian community. Our work in these centers addresses the specific way Christians are targeted and oppressed by their governments and cultures to keep them powerless and impoverished. The centers will be rolled out in stages. We plan to start with one to three centers in 2016 depending on finances. Please join us in bringing hope to the persecuted.

SUFFERING WIVES AND CHILDREN

No form of persecution grabs the attention of the world like that of mar tyrdom. In the days immediately following the execution of 21 Christians on a beach in Libya, many wept, many prayed, and many gave to help the families lef t behind. But not all mar tyrdoms become front page news and even those that do quickly fade from sight.

I thank God for ICC. I had no idea how to feed my kids. I don’t know how to re p a y, e x c e p t I t h a n k t h e Lord and THANK YOU.

W H Y AWA R E N E S S ? We are constantly at work being a witness for the persecuted so that the world cannot forget them and so that countries that persecute are held accountable at some level. In doing this, we have found that many countries curtail persecution. They often decide, over time, after their deeds done in secret are shouted from the rooftops, that it is not wor th the trouble.

International Christian Concern is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) (all donations tax-deductible). ICC makes every effort to honor donor wishes in regards to gifts. Occasionally, situations arise where a project is no longer viable. ICC will then redirect those donated funds to the fund most similar to the donor’s original wishes. ICC uses 7.5 percent of each restricted donation to carry out the mission of its segregated funds.
