REPEAT CLASSES

Students may register for any courses they choose; however, in accordance with federal regulations, financial aid will only pay for ONE repeat enrollment of a class if a letter grade (‘A’, ‘B’, ‘C’, ‘D’ or ‘F’), a ‘U’ grade, or an ‘NC’ grade was assigned at the time the student initially took the class. This is done on the premise that the student is seeking to improve the original grade for that class, as well as to improve his/her cumulative grade point average. The Office of Financial Assistance at the University of Illinois at Springfield will not pay for repeat classes for which an incomplete grade (‘I’) was previously assigned. All enrollments of a class will count toward the total number of attempted credit hours when calculating completion ratios and maximum time frames as they relate to satisfactory academic progress (refer to the UIS Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy for additional information).
