The Perth Mint unveiled designs for the 2011 Australian Gold and Silver Bullion Coin Program today. The only major bullion coin Program in the world featuring annual design changes, it offers iconic imagery of three well-known Australian native animals. For 2011, the
Australian Kangaroo gold bullion coins portray a strapping specimen in front of a symbolic rising sun. Australian Kookaburra silver bullion coins portray the distinctive bush bird on a stump with outspread wings. Australian Koala silver bullion coins depict an adult and ‘joey’ koala resting in the fork of a tree.
Struck from 99.99% pure gold and 99.9% pure silver, the Government-backed Program is a leading choice for investors in Asia and Europe, and is achieving growing allegiance in North America. Offered in a wide range of sizes, the new Australian Kangaroo and Kookaburra bullion coins will be available from 14 September 2010. The latest Australian Koalas will be launched on 4 October 2010.
