Doctor Who 50th Anniversary

2013 1/2oz Silver Proof Eleven-Coin Set Produced by the BBC, Doctor Who is the world's longest running sci-fi programme having captivated audiences since 1963. It features the adventures of the Doctor, a time travelling humanoid alien, exploring the universe in his time machine, the TARDIS. The Doctor Who 50th Anniversary 2013 Set features 11 stunning 1/2oz coins struck from 99.9% pure silver, each celebrating the Doctor in his various regenerations. The set also includes a coloured token with a collage of the eleven Doctors. The reverse of each coin portrays a coloured reproduction of the Doctor and a nemesis sculpted on a vivid background surrounded by a border inspired by technology and time travel. Only 3,000 of these limited edition sets will be released with a numbered Certificate in unique display packaging designed to represent the Doctor's famed fob watch. Each coin has a maximum mintage of 4,000 and is legal tender of the Pacific Isle of Niue. Available for delivery from 20 November 2013.

Three of the year's most popular Australian wildlife designs are released in The Perth Mint's stunning 2013 High Relief Collection. Struck from 1oz of 99.9% pure silver in proof quality, the high relief format of each coin captures the intricate artistry of its reverse design. The Kookaburra coin's reverse portrays two young birds sitting on a tree branch above a spray of bush flowers; while the Kangaroo coin's reverse portrays an adult roo standing in a rural wheat field. The Koala coin's reverse depicts the marsupial resting in the fork of a eucalyptus tree. Struck in the same style, the depth and detail of the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II is highlighted on the obverse of each Australian legal tender coin. The collection is housed in a display case within a beautifully illustrated shipper and is accompanied by a numbered Certificate.

Each 1oz coin in this issue features a different coloured horse set against a mountain landscape. Viewed together, the background of each coin joins to form a picturesque scene. The Chinese character for 'horse' and The Perth Mint's 'P' mintmark also appears on the reverse of all four coins. The Raphael Maklouf effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the 2014 year-date and the monetary denomination are shown on the obverse of each Cook Islands legal tender coin.
