We shall travel by bus from Lima 8 hours to huaraz. The ride has spectacular views of the mountain range after reaching 4,600 mts in Conococha pass. We will trek for almost two weeks, the two best spots are chosen for resting days where the expedition party can enjoy a relaxing day in front of the Alpamayo mountain, or a delicious “Pachamanca” Andean barbecue at the Santa Cruz valley. After an acclimatizing hike in front of the mountains we will sleep in a local community located in the Cordillera Negra, the altitude is 3,600 mts. This will be important for the performance needed in order to finalize the long Alpamayo trek. For the people eager
Day 1: Huaraz - Hualcayan Early transfer from Huaraz to Cashapampa here we will start the next day our first trekking day, Total length is about 50K. In the way from huaraz we will see the Callejon de Huaylas landscapes villages of Yungay, carhuaz, caraz and then Conay the first camp is set at 3140m.
Day 4: Osoruri - Jancarurish For this day is a small trek until the second pass at 4,750 m. Here we will see all the mountains in the Cedros Valley, after box lunch in the top of the pass, we will get the next 4 hours along the Cedros Valley until we will reach the Jancarurish lake 4300m. This magnificent turquoise glacial lake is located under the Alpamayo “The most beautiful mountain in the world”. Here is our resting day, for the next day we will climb up to the spot where the winner picture of the world’s most beautiful mountain contest was taken surrounded by impressive peaks like Jancarurish 5780, Tayapampa 5860 and Quitaraju 6254m. Day 2: Hualcayan - Calamina After a good breakfast we will start our way up, it is a steady day only climbing with impressive views of the Cordillera Negra, approximately 7 hours of hiking before reaching our second camp. Day 3: Calamina - Osoruri
Day 5: Jancarurish - Huillca Today, is the climbing day for Caracara pass 4,830 mts this is a steep climb but rewarded with views of the mountains and the Jancarurish lake, this part is good to see Condors the Andean king, the way is a nice path until a second high pass at 4,460

Located 410 Km northeast of Lima it’s capital Huaraz is called “The Peruvian Swiss”. The Cordillera Blanca is protected inside the Huascaran National Park, a paradise of snowcapped mountains, 663 glaciers, 269 beautiful green lakes and 41 rivers, plus 33 archaeological sites. Its flora and fauna are an addition attraction featuring 800 varieties of blossoming flowers, as well as Andean condors, vicunas, puma, taruca or Andean deer and well over a hundred species of birds.
Today continue our way up until we cross the Cullicocha Lake at 4600m. This beautiful and probably the best spot for pictures has a spectacular background of Santa Cruz 6260 mts, four impressive peaks in front of the lake. After 50 minutes we reach the Cedros pass at 4850m continue descending until Osoruri here we camp.

for climbing experiences here is located a Mountain Camp where you can stay and train while meeting the locals day by day work in the fields. This trek has 4 altitude passes which make it to be not a piece of cake, reserved for experienced trekkers, average daily walks are 8 hours and is possible to finish this experience with an easy mountain climbing to the Pisco Mountain 5,600 mts the normal route does not require advanced skills, but basic knowledge of glacier travel, use of crampons and ice axes is essential. These climb is good for anyone in good condition and the reward is the best spot to admire the main peaks in the area higher than 6,000 mts like Huascaran, Chopicalqui, Huandoy and Chacraraju.
