ARCHITECTURE WORKS

ILLUMINATING GROUNDS

KNOXVILLE HOLOCAUST MEMORIAL RECONNECTING MEMORY THROUGH THE PUBLIC Landscape |Urban Knoxville Fall 2015 | Professor David Fox The monumental stones resemble the identity of candles by resonating with the reflection of oneself with their memories. It serves as a public space to commemorate the remembrance of the holocaust event with connections between an interactive and sacred space. With the three monolithic stones encompasses the idea of the body, mind, and spirit by reflecting the identity of oneself to different perspectives and viewpoints. As a site, carving into the ground embodies the theme of yearning towards the past. Which lead the appearance of the monumental stone to be resembling much like a candle. The green space park by the side serves as an area to commemorate public life while also play as a different viewpoint to the candles interpretations.

NEUHOFF CAMPUS PROPOSAL REVITALIZING A LOST HERITAGE Urban |Urban Nashville (Germantown) Fall 2016 | Professor Thomas K. Davis Collaborated with Nashville Civic Design Center Partnered with International Student | Geng Lui “Revitalization is the key word to this project. A massive site that goes far back to 1906 that was owned by the Neuhoff property. The site was once a former slaughterhouse but now are factory shells fill with concrete columns and mass exterior bricks. The project focuses on the idea of bringing back to life to the decaying masses on the site. Since the site alone is in an efficient location between proximities of Nashville and Germantown while also right by the Cumberland river.
