28 Months For Burglary

A GREAT Yarmouth man has been jailed for 28 months for attempted burglar y.

Paul Bateman, 43, appeared before Norwich Crown Court for sentencing after pleading guilty at an earlier court hearing for attempted burglar y.

The result comes after police investigated break-ins at the Merrivale Model Village tea rooms, Marine Parade that took place during September last year.

Bateman, of no fixed abode, but from the Great Yarmouth area was sentenced to 28 month in jail for the attempted burglar y, with five other offences taken into consideration under Operation Converter

These were for offences relating to three burglaries on Marine Parade, River Walk and Northgate Street

Drug line halted

ALFIE Bristow, 22, of Bussey Road, Norwich, was sentenced to three years and four months in prison at Norwich Crown Court after admitting two counts of supplying class A drugs, namely heroin and crack cocaine.

Bristow was arrested at an address in Links Road, Cromer following investigations into suspicious mobile phone activity, consistent with drug line operation.

PC Robert Wells said: "The closure of the Jay line will impact the supply of heroin and cocaine in Norwich protecting those at risk from this network.”

Affray sentencing

Four local men - Ben Turner, Joshua and Kevin Kinsella and Troy Hardywere all given 14 weeks for affray and 20 weeks for ABH, all suspended for 12 months Turner and the Kinsella’s were also ordered to do between 120 hours and 90 hours unpaid work.
