S Two maintenance employees at a Mars confectionary factory in Pennsylvania caused a sticky situation after falling into a partially full tank of chocolate. With the sweet substance at waist-height, the workers were unable to get out of the tank by themselves. Emergency responders arrived at the scene and freed the pair by cutting a hole in the side of the vat. Once rescued, the chocolate-covered couple were transported to hospital where it was later confirmed that neither suffered any major injuries. Officials at the Mars factory were unsure as to how the pair fell into the chocolate with one spokesperson saying, “We’re extremely grateful for the quick work of first responders”. The incident is being investigated by the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration.

SNEAKERS
Luxury fashion brand, Balenciaga, have launched a pair of disgustingly damaged sneakers with a mind-boggling price tag of $1,850. Labeled the “Paris High Top Sneaker Full Destroyed”, the limited-edition hightops were released on the Balenciaga website in either black or white. The not-so-fancy l o o k i n g sneakers have been intentionally designed to appear shredded, heavily worn and downright dirty. According to an official press release, the shoes are “meant to be worn for a lifetime” with the company reportedly only selling 100 pairs in total. If the $1,850 cost seems excessive, Balenciaga have cheaper alternatives in the destroyed-looking range including a pair of moderately ruined mules, available in red, white or black for $495.
DONUT DAY DELIVERS An American doughnut shop has broken a Guinness World Record after selling a whopping 8,558 doughnuts in one day. Tom’s Donuts in Angola hosted the attempt and significantly exceeded the goal of 1,700 doughnut sales. Todd Saylor, owner of Tom’s Donuts and the son of business founder, said customers started lining up from four-o’clock in the morning. The successful record-breaking attempt was completed in just four hours and confirmed by an onsite Guinness World Records adjudicator. Angola Mayor, Richard Hickman, congratulated the business and stated, “Congratulations to the Saylor family as Tom’s Donuts in Angola, was declared the Donut Capital of the World. 8,558 donuts were made and sold at this location.” That’s a lot of dough!
A giant squid was spotted by beachgoers in Cape Town, South Africa recently. Discovered at Long Beach in Kommetjie, local resident, Ali Paulus, described the squid’s body as being “around 2.2 metres alone, then with the tentacles and arms I’m sure it would have been stretched to 3.5 metres.” Images of the super squid went viral across social media with one user posting, “I used to swim in those freezing cold waters. I didn’t know these large creatures were there too.” Another giant squid washed up on a beach in Japan a week earlier measuring around three-metres-long. Although the squid is one of the biggest invertebrates in the world and can grow up to 13 metres in length, they generally live in the deepest parts of the ocean and are not often seen.

T im CRUISE CONTROL
Japan does it again – this time flying bikes!
k d at a jet ski or motorbike and imagined what it would be like cruising in the air? Well that fantasy is becoming fact, thanks to Japanese company A.L.I. Technologies and their XTurismo Limited Edition - a gas-powered personal hovercraft that’s soon to go into production! Starting as drone builders in 2016, A.L.I Technologies insist it’s not a motorcycle, as there’s not much cycling happening! It’s more of a flying bike than a flying car though, as its riders (pilots) will be wearing bike leathers and a full-face helmet. Visually, the flying bike looks like an oversized drone with a motorcycle stuck in the middle. With a sick black and red paint job, the hoverbike spans 3.6 metres from tip to tail and is 2.4 metres wide by 1.5
metres high. Although it is larger and heavier than a traditional motorcycle (300kg), it still retains a similar build – apart from the giant propellers and landing skids! Those four propellers - one on each corner - are for vertical motion, while a rider triangle - with a seat, footpegs and handlebars – create an epic cockpit! As for power, the hybrid powertrain comprises a Kawasaki motorcycle racing engine and four batterypowered motors. This
allows the XTurismo to fly f to 40 minutes at speeds of p to 100 km/h! The hoverbike can also carry up to 100 kg – so no passengers! After a short test flight recently at the Fuji Speedway, it handled as expected, lifting just a few metres off the ground. This ‘bike’ will follow the road while cruising; it is not something that can take to the open skies – yet! It were a fully
CRUISE CONTROL
airborne vehicle it would require complicated and expensive licences, and the rider/pilot would have to communicate with an aircraft control tower – like a private jet or passenger plane. The Tokyo-based company hopes the XTurismo will be used in a wide range of areas, although it’s main goa is to decrease heavy traffic in cities like Tokyo, home to 13.5 million people! For now, A.L.I. Technologie is making 200 units, at a price of $904,700, and limited for use on racetracks. Sure it’s price like a supercar, but for the masses, A.L.I. Technologies is working on a consumer version to be released in the years to come - when every day flying personal transpor will be the new reality!

Video games aren’t just video games anymore. We’ve seen some of our favourite heroes and series become all kinds of other experience in recent years. There’s comics, books, movies, TV shows, toys, Lego and so much more out there for fans to enjoy. The latest, and possibly coolest, is theme parks based on video games. At the Universal Studios Theme Park in Japan, there is an entire area called Super Nintendo World. You can see it in these pictures. How cool does it look? It’s not just about having an awesome theme, but many video game experiences actually make sense as rides. For example, Mario Kart makes for a great cross between dodgem cars and a rollercoaster.
The Super Mario World theme park experience in Japan has proven so popular that Universal Studios is going to make two more of them. One at their Hollywood theme park, and the other in Florida. It got us thinking; should there be more video game inspired theme parks out there? I think we all know the answer. Yes!!! We’d love to see the Super Nintendo World get even bigger and be a complete theme park. There could be Zelda rides, Animal Crossing adventures, Splatoon experiences, Pokémon hunts and so much more. But it shouldn’t just be Nintendo. What about Sony? Gran Turismo, Horizon,
atchet & Clan k, Twisted Metal and mor e would make for great rides . Or Microsoft , with Halo, Min ecraft, Forza Horizon, Viva Pinata and co. Then you have other big franchises like Fortnite, Rabbids, Nee d for Speed, Overwatch, S onic the Hedgehog, C rash Bandico ot and Skylander s to think about. Come to think of it, they should just m ake a Gaming World and pu t it in Australia right now. Wh at video game ride would yo u like to see in a theme park?

Here’s an interesting game idea. Foretales is a card game, but the way that you play the cards doesn’t just impact things like combat. It also changes the story. Indeed, as well as attack cards you have stealth cards, bartering cards for making a trade, cards for setting up tricks and traps, and more. You learn more about the story as you play your cards, with a voice actor reading out what’s happening. With its cute visuals and interesting idea, this could be an little indie gem. Ok here’s an exciting new game. This is platform fighter, kind of like Super Smash Bros, but starring characters from across the Warner Bros. universe. It’s a 2 vs 2 fighter, so more team-based than Nintendo’s classic, and with not as many fighters on screen. It will be interesting to see how the co-op play and teamwork unfolds. Some of the characters we’ve seen already are Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Harley Quinn, Shaggy and Velma (Scooby-Doo), Bugs Bunny, Taz, Arya Stark (Game of Thrones); Tom & Jerry; Jake and Finn (Adventure Time); The Iron Giant, and Steven Universe and Garnet (Steven Universe).

Legendary sci-fi series Star Trek has been spinning off into interesting directions on TV, and one of those shows is becoming a game. It’s the kid-focused Star Trek Prodigy, which is becoming a thirdperson action experience. You’re in a star system where a sun is about to explode, and you need to explore through three planets to save your friends, customise your ship and defeat aliens. For a change of pace, this just announced indie game looks very intriguing. ROLLER CHAMPIONS The first thing you will be happy to know about Roller Champions is that its freeto-play. The second thing is that it’s plenty of fun. This team-based multiplayer game has you roller skating around arenas and stunt parks with the goal of completing laps and scoring a goal. You get points for getting a ball through the vertical hoop in the stage and the more laps you do between goals, the more points you get.
This is best done by working as a team. You can knock opponents over, pass the ball to team-mates, slipstream to get faster and so forth. You need to be pretty aggressive, too, and the game becomes immersive as you manage your speed and momentum, and do big airs, trying to navigate the arenas. The game has a bright colourful look to it, but it could probably do with more variety. And we do hope they add
more modes in the future. But Roller Champions is still well worth checking out.

We’re already huge fans of the way this game plays, but the physics and controls have been improved yet again. This is helped by new practice programs that better help you learn how to race. In particular, we like what they have done with the AI, which now changes its pace so it’s always close to you making for mor exciting races. Although, you can always just go online, too. You find yourself on an uninhabited piece of land and you have to colonise it, creating your own city. EPOS H3PRO HYBRID The new H3PRO doesn’t make huge leaps over its already great predecessor, but they’re important steps. The latency has been improved, meaning what you hear and say happens even closer to real time. The active and passive noise cancellation has been tweaked, ensuring all you can hear is the game for total immersion. A fresh design retains the great over ear comfortability and detachable mic, but adds a cool new Racing Green or Ghost White finish. Add 30-hours of battery life and Bluetooth, and you have a top headset for all experiences on all devices.
XENCELABS PEN TABLET This new entry in the art tablet scene is pretty awesome, giving you a premium finish at a good price. As well as the tablet itself, it comes with two different sized art pens and a range of tips, as well as a cover and remote that gives you a keyboard shortcut experience. It can be used in wireless mode (16-hour battery), but you do need to connect it to a PC or Mac and use it in a program like Photoshop. Your picture on the tablet itself. But the experience is amazing, with 1:1 pick up of the pen, and brilliant pressure sensitivity.
OPPO A96 Sick or breaking or losing expensive phones. The Oppo A96 is cheap, yet still does a good job. Its large 6.59” screen offers a 90Hz refresh rate and a good resolution. It’s got the performance required to play games with no worries as well, and even offers decent sound. We love the long battery life and quick charging. The camera is ok, with 50MP back and 16MP selfie lenses, but you don’t get digital zoom or wide angle. Still, this is good value for money.

SKATE TRICK
52
Want to learn how to skate or perfect some of your skateboard tricks? Thanks to Dylan for this month’s awesome trick! When you first try and drop in be sure that you start on a small ramp first and then work your way up to the bigger ones, the wrong move can be costly. Have a friend to hold your hands or stand beside you if it seems too scary, they can help soften the landing for you.
1
Place your front foot on the board gently and begin falling forward.
2
Continue falling and be sure to keep the front leg bent this keeps your weight forward.
3
Slam your front foot down so that the board stays down, you will fall backwards if you fail to do this. Keep your eyes to where your going.
4
Bend your knees and absorb your weight into the curve of the ramp, this allows for a smooth and stylish finish.
5
You must maintain the weight on the front foot throughout the entire trick, you can still fall backwards at this point. Congratulations! You have just dropped in. This is one of the hardest tricks in skating and will be sure to increase your confidence and triple your fun!

Parents, help your child cut along the dotted line and place cards picture-side-down on a flat surface. Be sure to mix them up to make the game more challenging! The youngest player goes first. Players take turns, to the left, turning any two cards picture-side-up. The cards must be turned over completely, so that all players can see them. If the cards match, the player who turned over the cards gets to keep the set. If the cards do not match, the cards stay where they are and get turned picture-side-down again. The game continues until all cards have been matched and removed from the playing area. The player with the most matching pairs at the end, wins!

ne time when I was in kindergarten I was watching a school play and I really needed to go to the toilet. I was kind of scared to ask one of the teachers so I ended up wetting my pants. Then a teacher had to take me to the staff office and get me changed! ULTRA SHAME! Sean.

nce when I was very tired on a hot day I was so sleepy that before I got into the shower I took all my clothes off except for my socks! It was utterly embarrassing when I walked in and my sister was bursting with laughter and even took a picture. My socks were wet and my family laughed at me as well. When I threw them in the wash she said she was going to tell all her best friends about it! I was worried and embarrassed at the same time. Really embarrassing moment! Michael.

ne night at camp when I was sleeping, my friends got up really early to pull a prank on me. The first thing they did was draw a fake moustache on my face. Second they cut a hole in my jeans and third got hot water and waited for me to pee. The next day everyone at camp saw my fake moustache, the hole in my pants revealing my pink undies and my wet trousers. It was so embarrassing I had to stay at home for a week from the embarrassment.
