Most members say no There is a bit about online dangers Should it be spoken about? Maybe in a tutor session, but not a formal lesson – a one year course Best way to get the information to young people? Videos Reconstruction Leaflets are not as effective as face to face communication Assemblies – try and make fun and engaging Should be an approachable person who delivers the information Visits should be targeted at the 11-14 year olds (school years 7 and 8) Why are most cases at 13-14 years old? Facebook joining age Real world to online age transition Not understanding the dangers of online grooming and exploitation Some people don’t realise things are inappropriate – people need to know what it is so they can be aware of when it is happening Questionnaire to be given to members at a later date regarding the issue Information sheet given to members by visitors including a desired outcome for a council contract – suggestion that liaison with young people gets added to outcome


Updates Sam Poole’s last PYP meeting due to leaving for A-levels Kat’s updates Recruitment panels for social care – looking for people who are interested LGBT group have offered us fire training. Are PYP interested? Fusion updates Band list finalised – Steve to contact them Netley Youth IAG members visited Netley. They visited the control room, dog unit, marine unit, public order and saw Taser training. Members also took part in a police fitness test, with the majority of members reaching 5.4, the minimum entry requirement. RANT on Radio RANT has been discontinued, with doubts as to its return Anna is looking to get links with For U and Young Carers, which the new outreach officer should look into Manifesto Time Postponed due to low meeting attendance and shortage of time BREAK Re-election of outreach officer Members agreed to Nick taking the role until a new outreach officer until an election can be held Moved to September due to low meeting attendance Planning for 31st August - PYP Roadshow Locations: Palmerston Road, Commercial Road, Cosham High Street Pompey home game that weekend, so traffic issues and lack of public What questions are we asking?
