Life as a Graduate at PMVT

Cynthia “This programme has given me the chance to put the theory I had learned in college into practice. I really enjoy being a keyworker as you are assigned key clients. It is through this key working that I advocate for my clients and support them through this vulnerable stage of their life.”

Deirdre “When I began the graduate programme I was placed in the Accommodation Finders and Housing with Supports Team. I found that no two days were ever the same for me and this added to my continuous learning and development. Having being recruited through this programme in 2014 I have now progressed to the Central Supports Section of Peter McVerry Trust as Relief Co-ordinator.”

Karl “I am currently based in under 18s residential service. The graduate programme has enhanced my personal development through gaining experience in the homeless sector and working alongside other professionals. One of the most enjoyable elements of my role is working directly with each young person and supporting them to progress towards their goals of independent living and social integration.”

Aileen “The graduate programme is an excellent place to start after coming from college. It is very challenging yet extremely rewarding work. Being able to share the moment with someone moving into a new home after years of homelessness is priceless.”
