More than 45,000 nonprofits are dealing with military and veteran affairs in the United States. People want to have surety about the legitimate. The nonprofits supporting veterans’ rights below have worked and donated to the national veteran for many years. Fisher House Foundation Fisher House Foundation was established to support the Fisher House program that provides free housing and a second home for families of patients undergoing medical care at VA and significant military centers. Zackary and Elizabeth Fisher founded the not-forprofit organization in 1990. It has so far helped more than 300,000 families. It has helped them save over $360 million they would have used from their pocket to pay for housing and transport. Hope For The Warriors Hope for the Warriors runs support programs for service members, military, and veterans’ families. Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS) TAPS provides various compassionate care programs to those grieving the death of a loved one while in Armed Forces service. The nonprofit founded in 1994 has helped over 70,000 surviving families, casualty officers, and caregivers. Bonnie Carroll founded the organization after her husband died in an accident when training in Alaska. Give An Hour Give An Hour is a nonprofit matching military and veterans with mental health and wellbeing to volunteer health professionals with skills to help them recover. Together with 390 partner organizations and 858 active volunteers, the nonprofit has provided more than 210,000 hours of service. Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA) This nonprofit organization founded in 1978 advocates for Vietnam veterans. The mission of VVA is to ensure that veterans of the Vietnam War receive the care and respect they deserve. Legislation, community support, and events that recognize the veterans are the methods it uses for advocacy. VVA founder Bobby Mueller is a friend to Scott Higgins, the Co-Founder and CEO of Veterans Advantage. Scott helped Vietnam Veterans of America take off the ground by financial contribution and still supports its advocacy work. United Service Organizations ((USO) USO supports military and vets with everything like helping them to connect with families, get entertainment, and transition back to their communities after service. USO runs programs and services supporting veterans’ rights in more than 160 centers worldwide. Semper Fi Fund This nonprofit provides emergency financial help to post 9/11 vets after wounding, illness, or injury while serving any military branch. Semper Fi Fund also supports vets and their families by facilitating a smooth transition back to the communities. Honor Flight Network Honor Flight Network allows military veterans to visit memorials by transporting them to Washington. Veterans of WWII and those with terminal illnesses get the top priority. Bob Woodruff Family Foundation Bob Woodruff was a journalist who got critical injuries when reporting for ABC in 2006. His wife met families of Service members facing Traumatic Brain Injuries and Post Traumatic Stress when Bob was in a 36 day medically induced coma. Intrepid Foundation & Museum Intrepid is among The nonprofits supporting veterans’ rights through a family of foundations that give aid and educational experiences to make a difference in the lives of military, veterans, and families. The foundations are: Intrepid Sea The Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund The Intrepid Relief Fund The Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation Army Officer David Kim and his wife Cynthia established this organization to provide scholarships to children who lost a parent in the line of duty. It also supports struggling surviving spouses. Operation Gratitude Operation Gratitude, a long-time partner with Veterans Advantage, sends Care Packages to U.S Troops, Veterans, First Responders, and Wounded Heroes. It also sends the Care Packages to their families and caregivers. The Care Packages that Operation Gratitude sends even to troops overseas contain: Personal letters of appreciation Non-perishable snacks Entertainment, handmade, and hygiene items Operation Care & Comfort OCC provides support to the adopted units of U.S military service members deployed in conflict regions overseas. OCC assembles care packages from countrywide donations and ships them every month to adopted units until they return home. OCC currently supports 200 units monthly.
