Peter ERZVO Zvonar photography My key strengths: reliability, professionalism, originality, humanity and humility at the same time. Photographs of people, their stories. I have too many ideas that I would like to implement, they are simple and some very complicated, which requires a lot of time. Highlight them, I would like express in addition a soul of subject my shoots.

SIR’s Level 2 Photography Course @ RACC 2016 and Peter ERZVO Zvonar – Term 2 Project – Task One My first post for the New Year (wishing you all a Happy New Year) and I’ve just finished the first draft of my Powerpoint presentation on Peter ERZVO Zvonar which will be delivered sometime next term. He’s been an interesting photographer to research and put together a 15 min presentation on. In the main his work would be considered to be erotic, political, pornographic and above all provocative. You will see from his website that he appears in many of his pictures… a selfie man? Well no, its more to do with the fact that his much of his work is nude, erotic, pornographic … and here in his own words: “Why? Because I like myself, I am sexy, I have a good figure and I can make good faces (laughing). I always want to express something by my photographs, it is not enough for me to take a picture of my body, nude or half-nude. For me, there is a certain kind of symbolism in the fact that I am nude on the photo. It is not just a body, it is not my intention just to provoke, though it certainly is a provocation but in a different sense of the word. I want to initiate a discussion, I want to make people start thinking. To encourage them not to be scared, to put away their scruples, to get rid of agreements concluded a long time ago with family, system, religion. To be free in their way of thinking” Task 1 Presentation on portrait photographer Prepare a 15-minute presentation on a selected studio based portrait photographer. In the presentation briefly place the photographer’s work in historical context and then focus on

photographic and technical aspects rather than biographical. Evidence Required Presentation with supporting material From my viewpoint I see several influences in his work, not just from other photographers before him, but from the world of painters too – Caravaggio, Annibale Carracci in the baroque style through to John Everett Millais and John William Waterhouse of the Pre-Raphaelite Style.

© Peter ERZVO Zvonar Moving on from painters to photographers… and again this is my view of his possible influences and/or inspiration… I see elements of Horst P Horst, Helmut Newton, Robert Mapplethorpe and Annie Leibovitz (who he does credit as an inspirational source, as such). Here I see the light and shadow work of Horst P Horst, the intensity of portraiture of Helmut Newton, the nude, erotic, equally provocative work of Robert Mapplethorpe and some of the fun portraiture of Annie Leibovitz. Below are just a few of the comparisons I have made – more no doubt will be found on his website http://erzvo.com And make no mistake, despite the influences (which these days applies to all of us in the field, amateur or professional), I do consider his work to be original and thought provoking.
