Dear Mayor Bill Finch and Bridgeport City Officials,
We are honored and excited to have the opportunity to participate and partner with the City of Bridgeport and in the execution of the BGreen 2020 plan and projects. This document is in response to the City of Bridgeport’s Request for Qualifications for Park Master Planning Services - MNB124105.
Peter van Geldern Co-Founder of Shades of Green Network. Peter van Geldern is a resident of Monroe CT with his wife and children. His wife Joan teaches in downtown Bridgeport along with his three children who school there. Mr. van Geldern has over 25 years experience in the field of Concept Development and Architecture. Peter is a pioneer in the emerging fields of the sustainable design, grassroots entrepreneurism, and since 2005 master planning for sustainable cities. Please note: This document was made in short order with only a few revenant example projects. More qualification and referral material can be offered upon request.

About us The Shades of Green Network is founded by experts who specialize in leveraging social & professional networks to involve and organize multiple professional disciplines and all stake holders in reaching their respective and desired goals. We believe due to the advanced complexity inherent in today’s green start ups and sustainability initiatives, it is critical to take an integrated approach to reach true, comprehensive success.
What we do Because of our unique network approach, SGN can organize vast complexities and effectively provide comprehensive consulting services to our clients in the areas of concept development, master planning, architecture/design, project management, business development support, funding procurement, team building, HR, marketing, innovation, web development, social media, training, education, events, and other professional services that can be mined from existing or emerging professional networks.
What we will do for the City of Bridgeport In alignment with Mayor Bill Finch, we believe the next great movement to engulf America is the collective effort to build sustainable cities throughout our country. To achieve success in this emerging movement, SGN emphasizes excellence in communications, shared best practices, and a process driven coordination approach. The Network Approach. In 2008 Peter van Geldern initiated the “shades of green process,” a small-step road map to better assist his clients with the challenges of the decision making process when considering sustainable choices. After partnering with his cofounder David L. Marks in 2009, this process grew into the Shades of Green Network community that is thriving today.

Our choice to build this dynamic network has exceeded our greatest expectations by connecting us with hundreds of leading environmentally-minded thinkers, small and large green companies, innovators, start-ups and best practices from around the world. Overview of SGN Projects and Qualifications The following qualifications overview is designed to give a brief “snapshot” of the depth and breadth of our work experience appropriately pertaining to the City of Bridgeport's Request for Qualifications for Park Master Planning Services - MNB124105 and BGreen 2020 initiative. This portfolio represents a fraction of the total work of the network’s founders and its members and is intended to solely serve as evidence of eligibility to be invited to upcoming request for proposals.
In 2005, Peter van Geldern worked with Kona’s agricultural growers and community groups and local government to craft a master sustainability plan for the city of Kona and the entire Big Island of Hawai’i in-conjunction with Hawai’i’s overarching Sustainability 2050 plans.

Sustainable land use study for a 27 acre organic coffee farm in Kona Hawai’i. The following Kona Hawai’i 27 acre coffee farm project was designed and project managed by Peter van Geldern in 2005. This work consists of a similar evaluation report that addresses all the eight expected steps outlined in this RFQ.

Sustainable Design
The Green Barn. The following residence in Monroe, CT is a case study in green building and design and is an example of our commitment to green design and its ideals.
Project Management Peter van Geldern was a site supervisor/project manager for this 8,000 sqft $14milion Charron residence in Tokeneke, CT. This large residence with a two year timeline has the complexity of many commercial buildings.

Concept Development This Florida school design incorporates community esthetics with cutting edge educational design principles.
Innovation Consulting This is a good example of some of the design and consulting we do for new technologies. This concept art was created to present to potential investors in order to help find funding for a client committed to putting electric school buses into our school systems.

Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) This CSA Design out of David Moores RA offices dopne with Peter van Geldern is currently running out of Woodbridge, CT.
Large Park Event Production We have added this event production project as an example of our experience working in coordination with existing and often large park departments. Peter van Geldern has Designed and help produce two large public events on the steps of our nation’s Capital that also encompassed the entire mall lawn.
