Organizing a conference, in my case the European Casino Operations Summit, is not easy. As an experienced conference chair, speaker, moderator or panelist I always come when all the work is done, and I just have to hop on a podium and talk. But no, organizing is something different. Fortunately the lead for this conference is in the capable hands of Lucien Wijsman, who has been doing this for more than a decade. So I am just the sidekick, but nevertheless…

On the other hand I also would have never guessed it would be so much fun, seeing it come together. We had set ambitious goals: controversial topics, top-of-the-line speakers and a pan-European group of delegates. With pride I can tell you we pulled that off, already now, more than a month before the start. We have our wanted controversial topics: a presentation and a panel on diversity, equality and inclusivity (DEI); four slots on responsible gaming and duty of care; two keynotes on the future of land-based casinos; strategic marketing presentations; gambling on E-sports. You name it! And our speakers…Erwin van Lambaart, Martina Åkerlund, Professor Anthony Lucas, Georg Gubo, Kelly Kehn and Laurent Lassiaz are only a few of the more than 30 renowned speakers.

The pan-European goal also has been reached. We will have delegates, speakers, and sponsors from over 20 countries, ranging from Ireland to Turkey and from Scandinavia to Malta. To complete this perfect picture (yes, I still am a marketing guy), you might ask where we pull this off: This year, after being in Riga, Latvia, we are going to Bucharest, Romania. We will be in the city center, in the Radisson Blu. Want to see who will be speaking and about what? Please visit https://casinooperationssummit.net/event/bucharestromania/programme

I look forward to seeing you there!

PS: Delegate passes are only available for operators. B2B providers can be present as a sponsor.

PPS: This is the first and only conference that is for all casino operators. We do not make a division between online or land-based. Our agenda and audience covers both channels.

COS 2023 takes place from April 25 to 27 in Bucharest, Romania
