They rely heavily on grants, supermarket surplus and local donations, both financial and food. Without these donations, the pantries would simply be unable to meet the demand. This food is vital in enabling people suffering from food poverty to stretch their budget to get them through the week. They need 1500+ store cupboard items per week to keep pace with demand and always need cereal, UHT milk, tinned meat and fish, tinned ready meals, tinned vegetables, baked beans, tinned spaghetti, pasta, rice, pasta sauce and other cooking sauces, coffee, tea, squash, sugar, flour, dried fruit, biscuits, jam, marmalade, honey, tinned fruit, rice pudding, custard, gluten free products.
