REGIONAL CONVENTION ISSUE
2018
Greetings S O RO R S
N BEHALF OF THE REGIONAL OFFICERS AND REGIONAL LEADERSHIP, we extend to you a sensational welcome to 28th South Atlantic Regional Conference in the “Queen City” of Charlotte, North Carolina. Our theme is A Royal Gathering of Delta Women. The “Queen City” is where everyone is treated like royalty. A hearty welcome is extended to the National Executive Committee, National Executive Board, Past National Presidents, National Headquarters Staff, and to the over 10,000 alumnae and collegiate sorors in our region. The host chapters, Charlotte Alumnae, Gamma Lambda, Iota Rho and Upsilon Mu have truly surpassed all expectations for fellowship, hospitality, and fun, ensuring that the work of Delta will be implemented and successful. Charlotte is a beautiful and diverse city full of warm, friendly residents with an inviting southern hospitality. In 2016, according to U.S. News & World Report, Charlotte was ranked among the 20 “Best Place to Live in the USA” and is home to our 20th National President Dr. Bertha Maxwell Roddey. Additionally, Charlotte is home to the Carolina Panthers, Charlotte Hornets and the NASCAR Hall of Fame. Please enjoy the many activities and venues that Charlotte has to offer such as the Harvey B. Gantt Center for African-American Arts + Culture (co-founded by Soror Bertha M. Roddey), Discovery Place, Carowinds amusement park, and shopping malls galore! We encourage you to participate in all aspects of the conference including workshops, luncheons, and plenaries so that you are informed as you carry back this information to your chapters. With nearly 3,000 expected attendees, please take time to meet new sorors and reconnect with others to enjoy all that our sisterhood has to offer. A very special thank you to the Regional Conference Coordinators Sorors Michel Vaughan and Katrina Young and to the entire Regional Conference Steering Committee for making this conference spectacular, sensational and memorable. It is our intention that you leave this conference renewed, refreshed, and recommitted to our purpose, and feeling like a QUEEN! We look forward to an enriching, exciting and memorable conference. Let’s Keep It Sensational Sorors! With Much Appreciate and Sisterly Love,
A JUANITA B. MASSENBURG South Atlantic Regional Director
SIERRAeCUNNINGHAM South Atlantic Regional Representative
