Nature Mandalas within an Urban Landscape Buenos Aires, Argentina The Art and Photographs of Patricia Gilmore Patricia Gilmore is a North American artist/photographer who frequents the city of Buenos Aires. She creates environmental art, drawings, paintings, sculpture and she documents life in photographs. About her Nature Mandalas: “Foraging in the woods or on the shore is a great love of mine. There's fresh air, wondrous smells, tactile stimulation, exercise walking and bending and so many items to collect to make art. But here in Buenos Aires the parks are manicured and swept clean everyday. It's a challenge to gather materials. I don't like cutting plants especially in municipal parks, rather I prefer to park-comb with a careful eye. It takes a bit more time and imagination but it is a great repose out-of-doors. Much like other art forms nature art is a meditative process and restful to the busy mind. The photographs in this book were chosen to contrast one another. Images of city life are side by side with peaceful minimalistic nature mandalas. Take a few moments to absorb each simple colorful circle. Consider them little vacations. Exit the chaotic world and enter into the Zen.�
