What is a PGL Family Adventure? Since 1957, we’ve been pioneers of activity holidays and set the standards in what we do. We've welcomed thousands of children, groups and families to PGL and have used all that experience to perfect our unique family holiday formula. Our UK Multi Activity holidays There's a reason why it's a classic Our Multi Activity range of holidays, based in the UK, are the most popular choice with families and it’s clear to see why! We’ve been perfecting the holiday formula since 1957 and have found the perfect balance of adventurous activities, time to relax and good old-fashioned family fun. Coming in a variety of durations and located at our UK centres, our holidays are based around a full programme of multi activities. These include zip wire, giant swing and raft building to name just a few! We’ve got almost 40 activities to try across all of our centres* – so you won’t be short of variety! Durations range from 2 night weekends, ideal for a first taste of what PGL is about, to full week long adventures – the best way to get as much out of your family holiday as possible! Our most popular family centre situated on the Devonshire coast. All of the activities are within a stone’s throw of the terrace, bar and swimming pool – with cream teas available to enjoy with a sea view! There’s even a dry ski slope if you‘d like to pre-book a session of skiing or ‘ringos’ in your free time*. Our newest centre, this stunning site sits on its own beach front with 144 acres of parkland, packed with a fantastic range of multi activities. Other facilities surrounding the historic Grade II Listed building include a sports hall, tennis courts and the newly added River Jordan.

This charming centre sits right on the water’s edge at Wootton Creek, just a short drive from Fishbourne Ferry Port on the beautiful Isle of Wight. It’s one of our smallest family centres, but it leads the way with the widest range of multi activities – there are almost 30 on offer!

Accommodation within the grounds was all refurbished in 2018; rooms are mostly bunk-bedded and have en-suite bathrooms.

Bunk-bedded, woodland cabins provide a place to sleep and at the heart of the centre is the ‘Mounties Retreat’ bar and souvenir shop.

If you’re looking for an ‘away from it all’ setting for your stay, this could be the perfect location. Nestled in the Lincolnshire countryside, Caythorpe Court’s 65 acres of grounds are filled with a great range of activities from our classic line-up, including a lake perfect for water sports! There’s also plenty of opportunity to relax between activities in the lounge areas or unwind at the end of the day in the bar.

Spacious, modern and great facilities! Formerly a hotel and conference centre, Liddington has a more contemporary feel amongst our centres. The huge 150 acres make it a great location for an activity holiday – it’s now home to over 20 multi activities, a huge dining area, lounge, bar and mini-gym.

This beautiful centre sits on a private clifftop with stunning coastal views over Weymouth, Portland and Chesil Beach. There’s a great range of activities, and thrill seekers can enjoy a panoramic view with a flight on the cliff top giant swing! Head to Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy to try watersports*, just a short coach ride away.

Families sleep either in the main building, the ‘Stables block’ or King Edward house in en-suite rooms with mostly bunk-beds.

Boreatton Park, Shropshire

With 240 acres to explore, Boreatton Park is our largest UK centre and boasts three lakes, a river, a huge sandstone abseiling cliff, five zip wires, six giant swings and much, much more. Other facilities include the Activity Barn with indoor climbing wall, the Crazy Moose bar and a gift shop.

For families looking for a true Highland adventure, this small, friendly centre sits right between the edge of the Craigvinean Forest and the River Tay. All activities take place in the surrounding forest including a huge double zip wire and 75ft tree climb, exclusive to Dalguise!

Stay in the wooden lodge village with en-suite bunk-bedded rooms, or our tented village.

Château de Grande Romaine, Paris Enjoy staying in our stunning French Château, home of our Paris and Disneyland® holidays. It’s set in 70 acres of beautiful grounds filled with sports courts, activity bases and a heated outdoor swimming pool*, so there is never a dull moment! The Château also boasts a dining room, bar and outdoor seating areas to relax in. En-suite rooms are just what you need; simple and comfy! Domaine de Segries, South of France When you’re off the river, your base is ‘Segs’, where you will sleep in tents with single beds or one of our three different types of bunk-bedded chalets or lodges within the wooded grounds. At the heart of the centre is a beautiful farmhouse with a relaxed dining area, swimming pool, sports pitch and a small shop and bar. There’s also a fantastic range of classic multi activities on site including a Jacob’s ladder, trapeze and high ropes course! Important information Accommodation What’s the accommodation like? Our accommodation is clean and functional rather than luxurious. Most rooms are bunk-bedded and all are en-suite with the exception of the campsite at Boreatton Park, some lodges and the tented accommodation at Domaine de Segries. All non en-suite accommodation has shower/toilet blocks for the exclusive use of family guests. Do we need to bring bedding? Bedding is supplied. You will need to bring your own towels. Are there under occupancy charges for small families? We offer a choice of rooms with no under occupancy charges. Where these are not available, an additional supplement may apply, depending on the room type and family size.

Food and meal times What kind of food can we expect? We’ve worked closely with leading catering organisations to develop a simple, balanced menu, where even the fussiest eater should still eat well – particularly after a day of activities. We provide three healthy, high energy meals per day that support the 5-a-day campaign and minimise added salt, sugar and fat where possible. What are the dining rooms like? Our dining rooms are all canteen style with self serve salad bars (with the exception of Domaine de Segries). At some centres, there may be an occasional evening barbeque. Do you cater for special diets? We accommodate most diets and all meals will always include a vegetarian option. Please ensure you inform us of any dietary requirements when you call to book. Do you serve alcohol? All centres have an on-site bar except for Dalguise and Bawdsey Manor. Alcohol can be served to guests over 18. For Dalguise and Bawdsey Manor, refreshments are provided for you to enjoy in lounge areas, and centre staff can advise you of nearby pubs and restaurants. At our French centres a glass of wine will be available for adults to enjoy with the evening meal. Tea and coffee are available throughout the day

whether that be in lounge areas or available to purchase at the bar. At some centres, tea and coffee facilities are available in your room.

Under fives are not able to participate in any PGL activities, however they can travel for free on all UK Multi Activity holidays.

Activities

Due to local legislation, our holidays that include a descent of the Ardèche river are only suitable for children aged seven and over.

Can we choose our activities? Activity itineraries are planned by the centre shortly before your arrival to ensure your family get a good balance of different activities. Therefore, guests are unable to choose activities. You can make activity requests at the time of booking which will be passed on to the centre who will try and accommodate these, but this cannot be guaranteed.

Do you provide a childcare service for children not taking part in activities? We are unable to provide childcare for children not able or not wanting to take part in activities. Children not taking part must be supervised at all times by, and remain the full responsibility of, the parent or guardian.

How many people will be in our activity group? We group around 2-3 families together for activities to create good group dynamics. It’s a great opportunity for both adults and children to meet like-minded friends. Average group sizes are 8-12 people, but this varies depending on family sizes.

Younger children Can under 7's and infants come? Children aged five and six years are welcome at all our UK centres and Château de Grande Romaine in France, although they may not be able to participate in all daytime activities on grounds of safety. There may be some other school children, groups (e.g Brownies or Cubs) or individual children at the centre whilst you are there. These guests are supervised by their Group Leaders and PGL Staff and will have a separate activity programme. Where possible, separate accommodation, social facilities and meal times will be arranged but this cannot be guaranteed.

Check in/out times What time can we check in/out? Check-in time on a seven night holiday is usually between 4-6pm and guests will usually need to check out of their rooms between 9-11am on the day of departure. (Times may differ for shorter breaks depending on the centre.)

What to bring Do we need to bring any specialist equipment? No, all essential activity and safety equipment is provided. What sort of clothing do we need to pack? After booking, a full packing list and 'what to wear' guide can be found in your Essential Information booklet in your MyPGL account. Activity staff will advise you prior to each activity of any clothing requirements such as long sleeves. In general, comfortable, old clothing is best as it can get wet and muddy. Is there a dress code for the evening meal and evening entertainment? There is no dress code, but you may wish to bring a change of casual clothes for the evening.

How do I pay for the holiday? • Credit/debit card: We accept all debit/credit cards except American Express. • Bank Transfer: visit www.pgl.co.uk/payments for details. Can I use my Childcare Vouchers to pay? Unfortunately Childcare Vouchers or the Tax-Free Childcare Schemes are not valid as payment on family holidays. Do I need to pay a deposit? Once we have checked availability we will take a non-refundable deposit paid by credit/debit card in order to secure your places.

Due to the nature of activity based holidays, we recommend that all customers have insurance, particularly if you are travelling outside of the UK. Do you offer PGL insurance? Yes. Experience has shown that standard policies do not cover all our activities, e.g. motorsports, abseiling and rifle shooting. For your protection, we offer a special policy with Union Reiseversicherung AG. This PGL insurance covers all the activities we offer as well as accident, medical expenses and cancellation charges. Please ensure you have read the insurance product information document which can be found on www.pgl.co.uk/familyinsurance. Customers not purchasing our insurance will be asked to complete an Insurance Indemnity Form issued on the advice of ABTA.
