SO

much more

a holiday

than just

so many ways, our holidays are a very special u In kind of fun.

For a start, they’re real adventures that are just for children. They get to try amazing activities and laugh with new friends and old, in the place that matters most – the great outdoors. They gain new experiences and a whole lot of self-confidence. Challenge themselves. And yes, enjoy some independence and grow up a bit too.

You’ve got to spread your wings before you can fly. For most, it’s their first time staying away from home and that’s what makes a PGL holiday special too. We understand that taking that first step as a parent can be daunting but we know the rewards are worth it. That’s why we believe ‘adventure matters’ and why we’d love you and your children more than ever to join the adventure in 2017.

See it, hear it, explore it for yourself. The best way to understand what makes us special is to come and visit one of our centres yourself. Because that’s asking a lot, we’ve created this brochure and our website packed with information, photos, videos and virtual tours to bring what we do to life.

our

NOT SO

secret

formula

experiences for every child, every time. u Unique Describing what our holidays consist of isn’t simple. We don’t have a clever buzzword to describe it in a nutshell because our formula creates unique experiences for every child, every time. We’ve been perfecting our recipe for a long time and like most good things it’s not so secret. It’s all about the things that, as parents, we know count for so much – quality, experience, care and common sense. Our holidays are all about bringing children together in small groups to socialise, learn from each other and share the adventure.

Our staple ingredients: • We build high quality, safe adventure centres, dedicated purely to children, using only top quality equipment. • We employ a specially trained, motivated and compassionate team with specialist activity instructors. • We offer exciting and inventive holidays, with never a dull moment from dawn ‘til dusk. • We include almost everything you need in the price.

Our holidays aren’t just special – they are exceptional! We believe we have a winning formula, offering terrific outcomes for children and reassurance and value for parents.

IT’S

in

our dna think it’s important that you know who we u We are and what we’re all about. We’ve been pioneers of children’s adventure for 60 years and we set the standards in what we do. We’ve welcomed thousands of schools, groups, families and children to PGL over the years and given every single person an adventure to remember. In fact, last year more than 350,000 children came to our centres and that number is growing all the time.

Safety is our number 1 priority. We always put safety at the heart of everything we do. We have invested heavily in our adventure centres, to ensure we are leading the field with the best quality equipment, activities and safety gear you’ll find. We don’t rest on our laurels, constantly developing and expanding all of our centres, making sure every area exceeds your expectations.

First class reputation. We are proud of everything we do. Whether it’s our highly trained staff that will teach your children new skills and care for their wellbeing, or offering the best choice of centres and activities, PGL standards are second to none. We believe in children and understand just how much adventure matters in life. These deeply held values have stayed with us since we were founded in 1957 and we don’t intend to change them any time soon.

BUILT WITH

adventure in

u

mind

Adventure awaits… go and find it! Our centres are in a class of their own. Each one is completely unique yet they all have one great thing in common – they are built specifically for children’s adventures.

Spoilt for choice. Our holidays all take place at centres across the UK and France. There’s a whole range to choose from including our traditional ‘free range’ countryside camps, waterside retreats, woodland centres or even on the beach! Some centres are small and homely, perfect for our younger guests, whilst others are much bigger with hundreds of acres of outdoor space to explore! All of them are filled with purpose-built activity bases, including climbing towers, zip wires, giant swings and motorsports tracks. We take huge pride in all of our fantastic centres. That’s why we constantly invest in them to ensure they always meet your high standards. We strive to make each and every child feel comfortable and safe when they visit us, we employ a fully qualified and committed team to run our centres and we only use the highest standard safety equipment on each activity we offer.

WHAT A

difference makes a year

holidays and age groups are designed to suit u Our every child.

Every year we welcome thousands of children to our adventure centres and it’s fair to say, we understand more than most how different every child is. That’s why we work in small age groups that create good group dynamics, but also allow for the youngest or oldest in each age range to overlap adjacent age groups, so you can choose what’s best suited to your children. It’s also why we’ve developed almost 30 different holidays to suit every interest, passion and personality.

Our age groups:

H

We keep an extra eye on all our youngest guests but 7-10 they are usually the most reluctant to leave by the end!

H

We encourage more self-reliance in our busiest age 10-13 group, with the widest choice of holidays.

H

As you’d expect, our teams allow more freedom but 13-16 also know where to draw the boundaries too.

H

H

On our overseas adventures we operate slightly 9-13 13-17 wider age groups. Read on to explore our holidays (p14-33) and centres (p34-47).

Five days of themed activities + one day at Alton Towers

What’s it all about?

Lord Charles Hunt collected many treasures during his lifetime and recorded them all in great detail in his diary. Mysteriously, when he died, his most prized and valuable treasure, the Pharaoh’s Pyramid Puzzle, could not be found and is still missing today.

Why do we need to find the pyramid?

Mysterious inscriptions found in the Pharaoh’s tomb told of magical forces locked deep within the Pyramid Puzzle. Beware, because if the puzzle ever falls into the hands of the followers of Ghoulah, the inscriptions warn of impending doom! In order to prevent this, pieces of the Pyramid have been scattered around the Boreatton Park Estate where they have lain hidden for nearly 150 years. However, the inscriptions warned that after 150 years the followers of Ghoulah would return to look for the Pyramid. It must not be allowed to fall into their hands, which is where you come in...

Fantastic creek-side location

Wide range of activities

What’s it like?

Set in 48 acres of woodland on the banks of Wootton Creek, and with log cabin style accommodation, it would be easy to confuse Little Canada with the country from which it draws inspiration. Locations don’t come much better than this and we also have private access direct to the water from our seafront. There are loads of different activities to try on land and on the water or if you really want to make the best of this location then try our Wet & Wild holiday (see p21).

What facilities are there?

We have a fantastic range of activities including high and low ropes courses, abseiling towers, an archery range, giant swing and our very own creek for dragon boating and other watersports. We also use the beach, just a short walk away, for canoeing, kayaking and many of the activities on the Wet & Wild holiday. There are also two 10m climbing and abseiling walls, an indoor swimming pool, sports hall, tunnel trail and the Mysterious Matrix.

What’s the accommodation like?

Many of our log cabins have recently been updated and refurbished. Most rooms sleep four to six and have their own bathroom. The cabins are grouped together in small villages. 7-10’s usually stay in our cosy Woodland House, situated in the grounds with en-suite rooms.

Hillcrest is a small, homely centre, with staff who really love working with younger guests. Originally a private fishing lodge, it’s in a quiet rural setting close to the River Wye. It’s ideal for a first visit away from home or if you’re looking for somewhere really friendly and extra welcoming! All of our land-based adventure activities take place on-site. Amongst others, the centre’s facilities include a basketball court, low level ropes course and plenty of indoor space. Watersports are also available at our private lake nearby or on the River Wye.

What’s the accommodation like?

All accommodation is in the main house, in dormitories with showers and toilets nearby. PGL night duty staff sleep in rooms close to the dormitories, creating a very homely atmosphere.

and an archery field. Down the road next to PGL Llwyn Filly is ‘The Puddle’, our very own lake where you take part in watersports including kayaking and raft building.

Small and friendly, but with loads of space for activities. It’s a beautiful old mansion house (where Lord Hereford once lived) and the unique, private gardens and grounds once attracted wealthy Victorian visitors to sit and picnic by the stream. There’s a lot more going on than picnics today and now its gardens are packed with adventure! We also use the facilities at PGL Llwyn Filly, a small, picturesque period property only one mile away in a private setting with its own lake.

What’s the accommodation like?

At Tregoyd, all the accommodation is in the mansion house. It’s in multi-bedded rooms with bunk beds, so you will easily make friends. Showers and toilets are located close to the rooms. (Please note that in summer guests on our Horse Riding and Trekking holidays may be accommodated together in multi bedded rooms at PGL Llwyn Filly).

What facilities are there?

In the gardens and grounds of Tregoyd House there are the challenge courses, an abseil/climbing tower, trapeze, Jacob’s ladder, rifle range

Set in ‘Big Tree Country’

What’s it like?

It’s a fantastic forested site by the River Tay, at the heart of Perthshire’s ‘Big Tree Country’. As well as having all the usual exciting PGL multi activities, this is our only centre with a 75ft tree climb. There is also a cat walk, which will test your balance high above the ground and a huge double zip wire. The wildlife in this unspoilt area is also incredible and if you are lucky you may see the elusive red squirrel or even leaping salmon.

Unique 75ft tree climb

What facilities are there?

Most of the activities are on-site and are hidden within the woodlands all around the centre – making the most of the forest environment. Canoeing takes place on our brand new on-site lake. The main building was once the summer home of Beatrix Potter and many of her stories were said to be inspired by this idyllic location.

What’s the accommodation like?

All guests sleep in the purpose-built lodges or our recently converted stable block in the grounds which have six to eight beds and their own showers and toilets.

En-suite accommodation

What’s it like?

Winmarleigh Hall is conveniently located an hour from Manchester and Liverpool and three hours from Glasgow. The Forest of Bowland lies nearby, which is a designated Area of Natural Beauty. Built around the original main house, Winmarleigh was formerly a spectacular traditional Victorian estate. Set in 50 acres of gardens, parkland and woodland, the building retains many original features. Its large rooms and sturdy construction make it ideal for groups of children. The centre is small enough to have a homely feel, but large enough to explore and experience a range of fantastic activities!

What facilities are there?

All the activities are on-site and are spread throughout the wooded and open areas of the centre’s grounds. Alongside the main building, a more modern building houses the indoor games rooms and additional accommodation. The centre also has its own private lake – ideal for watersports!

What’s the accommodation like?

Rooms at Winmarleigh Hall are either in the main house or the adjacent modern accommodation block. All accommodation is en-suite and rooms sleep four to ten guests.

BEING A PARENT

is an adventure too! We know that any parent wants their child to explore, have a great time and discover more about themselves. But at the same time we understand that you’re bound to have fears and want to protect them – that’s only natural, as parents it’s in our job description! However, we need to get the balance right between freedom and adventure, and care and protection. It’s a tough line to walk but it’s why we’ve worked so hard since 1957 to perfect our formula and get it right. 60 years on and our holidays are always exciting, full of fun, shared with new friends and enjoyed with laughter but they are also challenging, confidence building and rich learning experiences. They offer real, valuable (often life changing) outdoor adventures, in new and incredibly stimulating environments – the perfect setting to reap the benefits of our Adventure Holidays. We think that’s what childhood should be all about and what gets the balance right for everyone involved.

50

Parent Guide

PGL is a very special partnership between you, your children and us. Our Parent Guide is just another one of the ways we work harder to make this partnership a strong one. In our brochure you’ll find all the most important things we get asked about and the key essentials you might want to know about if you’re booking for the first time. On our website we offer a fuller version in even more detail and depth, along with our new section featuring customer feedback. We appreciate there’s always lots to consider when you’re a parent and we hope you find it helpful. We’re looking forward to welcoming you this year.

THE UK’S LEADING PROVIDER OF

children’s holidays

Established 60 years ago in 1957, we are the UK’s leading children’s adventure holiday company. Our expertise, safe environments and unrivalled pastoral care means we are trusted and respected by schools and families nationwide. Our beginnings

Back in 1957, Peter Gordon Lawrence bought a folding canvas canoe and set off down the Danube. He loved this experience so much he wanted to share it. Returning home, he began leading groups of young adults on canoe camping trips down the River Wye – and PGL was born! Sadly Peter died in 2004 but his original passions still live on today, in a growing and thriving organisation and the generations of children who have benefitted from what he began 60 years ago.

What we offer

• Dedicated staff • First class reputation • The best centres built for children • Tailored holidays for different age ranges • Small group sizes

TOTAL PEACE OF MIND

We put safety first, so you can relax. You can trust PGL to take your children’s welfare and happiness very seriously indeed. Our staff maintain the highest safety standards and we’re regulated and licensed by all the appropriate bodies. Our stringent standards fully comply with the DFE (Department for Education) guidelines. We follow national guidelines and undertake fully comprehensive risk assessments. Our outstanding training programmes ensure all our staff place safety first. In this environment, children are not just safe, they feel safe. So they can really enjoy every new experience and their confidence can flourish.

PGL are registered with and adhere to the regulations of the following organisations:

• Adventure Activity Licensing Authority • OFSTED Inspection • British Activity Providers Association (BAPA) • Association of British Travel Agents (ABTA) For a full list of all our licensing regulations and bodies and which activities they apply to please visit our website.

team spirit

PGL KIDS SAY IT’S “THE STAFF!” THAT MAKE PGL HOLIDAYS THE BEST!

Fully trained and highly skilled, it’s our team that make PGL holidays so popular and successful – parents and children tell us so! Only the best will do

To maintain the standards of excellence for which we are known we rigorously select only the very best of the thousands of candidates who apply every year. We assess them according to their previous work with children, entertainment skills, personality and activity qualifications and experience. Naturally all staff members are DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service, formerly CRB) checked. Additionally, all new appointments are on probation for their first two to four weeks, and continually assessed to ensure they meet our high standards.

Highly trained and qualified

With 60 years of experience, PGL’s commitment to staff training and development is unsurpassed. Our staff must be adept at bringing out the very best in children, while keeping them safe and happy. So we ensure each one is trained and equipped with the skills, knowledge and attitude to give your children the time of their lives.

PGL Instructors

Trained instructors take responsibility during activity sessions. We have an excellent safety record of which we are very proud and we insist our instructors enforce the highest possible safety standards. Where an appropriate formal qualification exists, instructors must hold it. Where no recognised qualifications exist, we carry out verified in-house training and assessments.

PGL Centre Managers

Unlike many organisations, all PGL Centre Managers are on permanent, full-time contracts, having worked their way through PGL’s own career system. They set the tone at their centres, and ensure staff stay motivated throughout the whole year so each week is as good as the first!

52

Parent Guide

PGL Group Leaders – our famous ‘Groupies’! On arrival at our UK centres, your child will join a small group of similarly aged children in the care of a Group Leader (or ‘Groupie’). Our Groupies are exceptional people, chosen for their ability to communicate with children and look after them. Responsible for children’s social welfare, they will be your child’s main daily contact. Groupies get the lazy bones up in the morning, make sure everybody knows where they should be, encourage regular use of soap and toothpaste, eat meals with the children, organise wacky evening entertainments, and boogie with them at the disco. Our Groupies come through smiling – and the children simply love them!

PGL HOLIDAY CONSULTANTS

Our Holiday Consultants are second to none. Most are parents and know our centres well, so are best placed to answer any questions you may have. They can’t wait to help you plan the perfect holiday for your child – so call them now! No question is too small or unusual. We won’t rush you but we know you’re busy so we’ll try to be as efficient and straightforward as we can. We get to know many PGL parents well and look forward to speaking to them several times a year. So please give us a call on 0333 321 2114. We’d love to hear from you.

be insured - key information It is important that everyone travelling with PGL has holiday insurance. Experience has shown that standard policies do not cover all our activities, e.g. motorsports, abseiling and rifle shooting. For your protection, therefore, we have arranged a special policy with Union Reiseversicherung AG. PGL insurance includes the following benefits as long as claims fall within the terms and conditions of the policy:

Please note that cancellation cover comes into force when you pay the appropriate premiums. One premium will cover two or more consecutive holiday weeks per child. Non consecutive weeks require separate premiums. Most of the above sections are subject to £35 excess (up to £250 excess for legal expenses). Please read the Key Insurance Facts over the page. Clients not purchasing our insurance will be asked to complete an Insurance Indemnity Form issued on the advice of ABTA. DURATION

Be Insured - key facts We would like to explain some of the definitions and features of our insurance cover for you. Cooling off period: Your policy contains a 14 day cooling off period, during which you can cancel the policy and get a refund, if you have a justifiable reason for being dissatisfied with the cover it provides. Pre-existing health conditions: If any participant, or any other person on whom the travel plans depend, has ever had treatment for any heart condition or circulatory condition, a stroke or high blood pressure, any breathing condition (including asthma), any type of cancer, any type of diabetes, any psychological condition, any existing injury or other serious or recurring medical condition, any condition requiring long term, prescribed medication or if you or they are receiving or awaiting investigation for any medical condition, you must advise the insurers via PGL to see if additional cover is available. Insurers reserve the right to impose terms. You will receive confirmation in writing of their decision. Conditions, Exclusions & Terms: Conditions and exclusions will apply to individual sections of your policy while general exclusions, conditions and warranties will apply to the whole policy. Property Claims: These claims are paid based on the value of the goods at the time you lose them and not on a “new for old” or replacement cost basis. Policy Limits: Most sections of the policy have limits on the amount the insurer will pay under that section. Some sections also include other specific limits, for example for any one item or for valuables in total. You are advised to check your policy if you intend taking expensive items with you, which we advise against.

Policy Excesses: Under most sections of the policy claims will be subject to an excess. This means that you will be responsible for paying the first part of the claim. The amount you have to pay is called the excess. Reasonable Care: You need to take all reasonable care to protect yourself and your property as if you were uninsured, otherwise your claim may be refused. Complaints: The insurance policy includes a Complaints Procedure which tells you what steps you can take if you wish to make a complaint. Dangerous Sports or Pastimes: If you are going to take part in dangerous sports or pastimes where there is a risk of injury, check that your policy covers you. All activities officially organised and implemented by PGL are covered. Policy Document: This gives full details of what is not covered and conditions of the cover. A copy will be sent to you on booking, or earlier on request. Law: The Insurance Policy will be subject to the law of England and Wales unless otherwise agreed. Please ensure you read your insurance policy carefully. Failure to comply with the terms and conditions of the policy may result in cover being restricted. PGL are an Appointed Representative of Fogg Travel Insurance Service Limited who with the Insurers are authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority.

the small print Please take time to read the following terms and conditions carefully. They are the basis of the contract between yourself and PGL. A contract will exist between us when we have taken your booking and required payment. You will then automatically receive a confirmation/invoice detailing exactly what has been booked. If you think anything is incorrect please contact us straight away. All correspondence will be with the person named on the confirmation invoice who accepts the following conditions on behalf of all participants. The contract between us is governed by English Law and any dispute will be dealt with under the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. Any monies paid to an appointed agent will be held by the agent for PGL until they are paid over to PGL. Your final payment and travel tickets The balance of your account is payable not later than 12 weeks before holiday commencement. If payment is not made by the due date, we reserve the right to advise you of the cancellation of your holiday booking and make a cancellation charge at the appropriate rate. Full payment must accompany bookings made within 12 weeks of departure. The Package Travel, Package Holidays, and Package Tours Regulations 1992 require us to provide security for the monies that you pay for the holiday booked from this brochure and for repatriation in the event of our insolvency. We provide this security by way of a bond held by ABTA. Changing your booking or travel If, after you have confirmed your booking, you wish to

make any alterations, an administration charge of £25 will be made per amendment. Any such amendment may be telephoned to PGL in the first instance but must be confirmed in writing immediately thereafter by emailing holidays@pgl.co.uk. However, if a major amendment is requested less than 8 weeks prior to the starting date of the holiday, we reserve the right to treat your request as a cancellation and charge the appropriate cancellation fee as detailed below. In order that all our staff have the correct information we cannot accept additions or alterations to travel arrangements within 7 days of the commencement of the holiday. If we are forced to make changes PGL will do its utmost to provide all of the arrangements that have been confirmed, but must reserve the right to alter or cancel any activities, accommodation or other arrangements, including escorted travel, if operational, weather or other considerations so dictate. If we have to make a major change to your holiday, we will offer a suitable alternative if available, or 100% refund, if we are not able, in our opinion, to offer an alternative that is sufficiently comparable. Compensation will be paid as below if we have to make a major change to your holiday within 8 weeks of holiday commencement, unless the change is due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to war, riot, civil commotion, act of God, industrial dispute, Government action, epidemic, disease, adverse weather or natural disaster. • 56-29 days – 10% of holiday price • 28-15 days – 15% of holiday price • 14 days or less – 25% of holiday price

The price of your holiday is subject to surcharge due to unforeseen increases in fuel costs, Government action such as increases in VAT or any other Government imposed increases or adverse currency exchange rate variations. Even in this case, we will absorb an amount equivalent to 2% of the holiday price which excludes insurance premiums and any amendment charges. Only amounts in excess of this 2% will be surcharged but, where a surcharge is payable, there will be an administration charge of £1 together with an amount to cover agents’ commission where relevant. If this means paying more than 10% of the holiday price, you will be entitled to cancel your holiday with a full refund of all money paid except for any premium paid to us for holiday insurance and amendment charges. Should you decide to cancel because of this, you must exercise your right to do so within 14 days from the issue date printed on the surcharge advice. The prices of our holidays abroad have been fixed according to an exchange rate of 1.19 euros to £1 as published in the Financial Times on 12th December 2016. You will be notified 8 weeks before departure if a surcharge is due on your holiday. Cancelling your holiday or travel If you find that you cannot take your PGL holiday and have to cancel, for whatever reason, your deposit will be forfeited to cover our costs. If we receive your written cancellation within 56 days of your holiday commencement date, higher cancellation charges will be made, as follows: • 56 to 29 days prior to commencement – 30% of the total holiday price.

• 28 to 15 days prior to commencement – 45% of the total holiday price. • 14 to 1 days prior to commencement – 100% of the total holiday price. • On or after the commencement date – 100% of the total holiday price. The date of effective cancellation is calculated on the day of receipt of written advice in our Reservations Department. Travel costs are forfeited unless written cancellation is received more than 14 days prior to holiday commencement. Your PGL holiday insurance may cover the cost of cancellation. If in doubt don’t hesitate to contact our brokers, Fogg Travel Insurance Services, on 01623 631 331. Any compliments, complaints or feedback If there is any problem with the holiday, we want to put this right for you as soon as possible. Please ask your child to mention it to their Group Leader/Courier/ Centre Manager straightaway. Alternatively, we will be pleased to make a phone available, so your child can speak with you if this is preferable. We would ask you to make immediate contact with either the centre or Head Office in Ross-on-Wye. If we have been unable to find a solution, you have 28 days from the end of your holiday to write to us to explain your grievance. Please email feedback@pgl.co.uk.

If you are still unhappy, your complaint may be referred to arbitration under a special scheme arranged by the Association of British Travel Agents in conjunction with the Institute of Arbitrators. This scheme provides for a simple and inexpensive method of arbitration on documents alone, with restricted liability on a customer in respect of costs. The scheme does not apply to claims for an amount greater than £5,000 per person. There is also a limit of £25,000 per booking. Neither does it apply to claims which are solely or mainly in respect of physical injury or illness or the consequences of such injury or illness. The scheme can however deal with compensation claims involving minor injury or illness, subject to a limit of £1,000 per person. Application for arbitration must be made within 9 months of return from holiday. Further details can be supplied by ABTA on request. Their address is: 30 Park Street, London SE1 9EQ. Our responsibility PGL accepts responsibility for those elements of the holiday arrangements which are under our direct control and for the acts and/or omissions of our employees, agents, subcontractors and suppliers. Save as set out below, no liability is accepted for personal illness, injury or death. We do accept responsibility for any personal illness, injury or death which results from the negligent (as the word is understood in the English Law) acts or omissions of any servant or agent, or any supplier, working on our behalf in the provision of services or facilities to you and whilst acting within the scope of their employment. Please note, however, that we do not accept liability for any air or sea carriers whose individual conditions of carriage apply and are often subject to international agreements. We cannot be held responsible for the failure or inability of any equipment or computer programme to recognise or correctly interpret or process any date as the true or correct date, or to continue to function correctly beyond that date. We cannot be held responsible for the loss of enjoyment or additional expenses due to delays or changes in any travel arrangements or other services which are caused by circumstances amounting to force majeure, such as, but not limited to war, riot, civil commotion, act of God, Government action, epidemic, disease, natural disaster, industrial dispute or adverse weather conditions. We can only be liable for the provision of special requests where we have confirmed their availability in writing. Should you or any member of your party have the misfortune to suffer illness, injury or death during the period of your holiday, arising out of an activity which does not form part of the arrangements made by us, we shall, where appropriate, and subject to our reasonable discretion and prior agreement, give you

and your family every help that we can by way of initial assistance, including initial legal costs associated there with, up to a maximum value of £5,000 per booking. You must request such assistance within 90 days from the date of the misadventure and in the event of there being a successful claim for costs against a third party or there being suitable insurance policies in force, the costs incurred by PGL shall be recoverable from yourselves. We shall not be liable in respect of any loss of profits, damage to goodwill or any type of special, indirect or consequential loss even if such loss was reasonably foreseeable or we have been advised of the possibility of you incurring the same. Subject to the above and excluding liability for death or personal injury, our liability shall be limited to £15,000 (pounds sterling) in respect to any one claim. Your responsibility It is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to advise PGL of a child’s special diet and swimming ability in writing or by telephone at the time of booking. This information will be reconfirmed to you in our documentation. (All children participating in watersports must be able to meet PGL’s swimming requirements as detailed in the Parent Guide.) It is also the responsibility of the parent/guardian or other person acting in ‘loco parentis’ to fully advise PGL, when booking, and then follow this up in writing, of any illness, disabilities, social or behavioural problems that a youngster currently has, or has recently experienced, which might affect the youngster or other guests during the PGL holiday. We may request written confirmation from your GP/teacher confirming the suitability of the holiday for your child with particular reference to such considerations as social compatibility, physical access, successful participation and health and safety. We will naturally treat any personal information sensitively and respect confidentiality. We are committed to making our holidays as accessible to as many guests as possible, however, very occasionally we may not be able to provide the service required and will refund any deposit paid.
