At the end of this program, participants will understand the importance of cavity dimensions, electrical requirements, control options, as well as considerations for home automation and systems integration.

PHS 102 Solar Protection and the Preservation of Interiors Know what to look for when you need solar protection in your design. Participants will learn key issues and considerations for specifying retractable screens as a solar protection feature, understand the importance of shading co-efficient and openness factor measurements and discover the benefits of screen placement for the enhancement of energy efficiency. 1 LU Hour (HSW)

PHS 105 Enhancing Sustainable Design with Retractable Screening Learn about the various benefits of retractable screens and how they enhance green design projects including: ease of maintenance, energy conservation, low usage and maintenance costs, and environmentally responsible manufacturing processes. 1 LU Hour (HSW/SD)
PHS 501 Facility Tour Discover the steps involved in the manufacture of retractable screening solutions. You will observe the production of retractable screens for doors, windows and oversized openings (manual and motorized), including a review of aluminum profiles, quality standards, and various options for customization. This tour may be coupled with any of the other programs available for an additional learning unit. 1 LU Hour
