We launched our 30th anniversary celebrations in late 2020 at the end of our PH Awareness Month campaign, “disCOVER PH.” The campaign won a gold EXCEL awardfrom the Software & Information Industry Association AM&P Network The awards, announced in June 2021, are the largest, most prestigious recognition of excellence and leadership in association media, publishing, marketing and communications We also received a bronze award for our 2020 COVID-19 pandemic response.

The Pulmonary Hypertension Association raises awareness of pulmonary hypertension all year long. Throughout the year, we educate the public about symptoms, risks, diagnosis and treatment culminating in our annual PH Awareness Month campaign each November During PH Awareness Month and all year long, we raise awareness through our website, social media promotions, digital newsletters and print magazine. Raising PH awareness brings us closer to our mission to extend and improve the lives of those affected by PH

In 2021, the PH Awareness Month theme was “Spark Awareness,” which complimented our “Lighting the Way Forward” anniversary campaign We brought back our award-winning awareness month calendar, which each day revealed an activity, fact or resource about PH to Spark Awareness.

PH Awareness Month 2021 focused on PH caused by left heart disease, the most common form of PH. We published a new free brochure, “PH & Left Heart Disease” and presented a webinar with Vineet Agrawal, M D , Ph.D , as part of our PHA Live series

World PH Day

May 5 is World PH Day, an annual event to raise PH awareness throughout the world Because of the pandemic, World PH Day took place virtually for the second time in 2021 As part of our campaign, PHA encouraged the worldwide PH community to consider COVID-19 vaccines according to World Health Organization guidelines We also urged the community to follow health and safety guidelines , such as wearing face masks, practicing social distancing and washing hands frequently. Throughout May, we shared graphics about the signs, symptoms and risks of PH worldwide, with the hashtag #WorldPHDay2021.

Through our PHA Connects program, the Pulmonary Hypertension Association (PHA) provides education resources for people with pulmonary hypertension (PH) and their families To protect the health of the PH community during the pandemic, PHA offered only digital resources in 2021, including webinars, videos and downloadable brochures.

In early 2021, PHA published “Navigating Pulmonary Hypertension: A Guide for Newly Diagnosed Patients to the PH community.” The 60-page book addresses diagnosis, treatment, psychosocial issues and more In June 2022, PHA received a silver AM&P Network EXCEL Award for “Navigating Pulmonary Hypertension ”
