Con người và con nước tồn tại song song với nhau, thích ứng và hòa hợp cùng dòng chảy phù sa của sông Mekong nuôi lớn mảnh đất miền Tây Nam Bộ. Con sông không chỉ mang lại hiệu quả kinh tế, vận chuyển hàng hóa mà còn ẩn chứa những giá trị văn hóa vô cùng lớn lao. Thế nên, những dòng sông cũng cần chiến lược bảo tồn, giữ gìn và phát huy bản sắc văn hóa sông nước riêng có của mình.

TỈNH AN GIANG Sông Mekong chảy vào lãnh thổ Việt Nam qua tỉnh An Giang đầu tiên, chia thành 2 nhánh sông Tiền và sông Hậu. Tỉnh An Giang có diện tícvh 3.536,7 km2 và đứng thứ 4 so với 13 tỉnh ĐBSCL.
VỊ TRÍ ĐỊA LÝ
ĐBSCL ĐBSCL được phù sa sông Mekong bồi đắp nên thành một đồng bằng châu thổ màu mỡ, phì nhiêu nhất ở Đông Nam Á, địa hình đa dạng với đầy đủ các loại địa hình từ biển, núi đầm lầy, rừng nhiệt đới và đặc biệt là hệ thống sông ngòi, kênh rạch chằng chịt đặc trưng.

10 DAI LE ARCHITECTURE PORTFOLIO CON NGƯỜI // CON NƯỚC // KIẾN TRÚC CONCEPT - Ý TƯỞNG SỰ ĐỐI THOẠI TRONG KIẾN TRÚC “CUỘC SỐNG GÓI GỌN TRÊNNHỮNG CHIẾC GHE” Ngoài những hình thức kiến trúc nhà nổi - làng nổi - chợ nổi, trên dòng sông Mekong còn có những con người, những gia đình, nhiều thế hệ sống gói gọn trên những chiếc ghe. Cuộc đời của họ cứ thế trôi theo con nước, lấy xuồng vừa làm nhà, làm phương tiện mưu sinh, lênh đênh theo con cá, con tôm sống qua ngày… Mang những giá trị đậm đà bản sắc sông nước đấy, lắng đọng lại trưng bày trong công trình. Công trình cũng như một con người, một chiếc ghe, tồn tại song song cùng con nước.

During its three-century of intensive and continuous development, Saigon has painted itself a uniquely sophisticated architectural picture, which is the perfect blend between different styles of various remarkable eras in history. From the Nguyen Dynasty, the French colonial rule that trans formed Saigon into the lively hub of commerce and culture, hence the name “Pearl of the Orient”, along with the rapid modernization of today, they have understandably left various marks on the city, all of which remain places of interest to date.

Once something becomes a ‘significance of Saigon’, it would become more valuable to the development of society. Hence, the community would be not only aware of but also responsible for the appreciation and preservation of that ‘significance’. However, due to the rapid modernization rate of today’s society, we have not only affected the environment but also forgotten or even destroyed the ‘significances’ with hundreds of years’ worth of history. An example of this would be Ba Son shipyard. And now, we currently have to pay for what we destroyed. century journey ‘‘Dấu
In 1791, The Nguyen Lords established “Thuy” yard to serve the coming war.
In 1863, France officially confirmed construction projects – building Ar senal de Saigon in Saigon under the France navy. In 1888, the Arsenal de Saigon was Incompleted.1945,the Arsenal de Saigon was bombed by allied aircraft. In 1948, the Arsenal de Saigon was rebuilt. On September 12, 1956, Arsenal de Saigon was transferred to the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Vietnam, and renamed into the Navy Plant. In 1975, the plant was renamed into Ba Son Union manufactory.

Slope roof > help rain water flow faster, waterproof, anti-leaking, high cooling and breathable. Roof Monitor > ventilation and get light for the building. Inside there are 4 rows of reinforced concrete pillars which support an iron rib, lift wooden rafting system on roofing tiles.
The walls was made of brick, and there are grid windows between rows of re inforced concrete pillars. The door was made of iron, which pushes to both sides.

In 1861, a small shipdock was constructed (28 meters length and 12 meters height). Its mound was being made of laterit with hexagonal shape. The basement was assembled wooden planks in order to fix the smaller ship. There is a clay layer lied under the basement of the shipdock.
Big shipdocks were available on De cember, 1888. It had the length 156 meters, the height 21 meters and the depth 10 meters. Shipdock’s basement were lined with stones, and a mound made of Bien Hoa’s laterit. Cement, iron and steel were taken from France. Floating dock were brought from France to Saigon, in order to establish Ba Son

PROPOSED PLAN: Evolution in combination with cultural preservation. Maintaining the unique architectural features of Ba Son dockyard such as factories, ụ tàu,…; construct ing a path so as to create a multifunctional complex (Sight-seeing, living, exhibition,…). Thereby, the shipyards could be linked to other historical heritages as well as buildings of modern architecture in the future. District 1, Ho Chi Minh city, Vietnam
Ba Son shipyard is a historical monument. It witnessed both the foun dation and development of Saigon. Futhermore, Bason shipyard has a deep meaning with the Vietnamese maritime industry is where the working-class made its first appearance in Vietnam.
The Ba Son Shipyard is the Saigon’s oldest and most important maritime heritage site which has endured through time with the high historical and cultural value. Therefore, there has been a belief that this area should be conserved as its original architecture in order to serve as a valuable source for historical research and attracting tourists. However, the structure degradation is inevitably because of factory’s strenuous operation. As a result, it is obvious that some feasible measures for preservation should be taken into consideration.

FURTHER DEVELOPMENT PLAN: Developing comprehensively the area included in VinGroup’s planning area, demolishing all factories and erecting skyscrapers, premium villas and modern apartments which could bring about higher economic value. However, this plan might destroy the Saigon Zoo and St.Paul monastery’s landscapes and two opposite banks of Saigon River would be unconnected.
