Living along the horizon 2nd year/housing
Living Along the Horizon A housing project located next to Amager Strandpark (Amager Beach Park). The site is on the edge between central Copenhagen and the start of the suburban areas of Amager. The site’s location rose in particularly questions concerning densification and demographic. The end proposal is an attempt to create a hybrid building structure that takes in to account energy and living benefits of a city block and peoples desires for suburban qualities. The housing proposal emphasizes the potential of the view to sea and to create differentiated dwelling solutions. It was important to create varied units to ensure a mix of inhabitants. The units are intertwined so that they move from either east to west or vice versa. This ensures view to the horizon in the east and the quality of the afternoon sun from southwest.

Battlefield
3rd year/ housing
15km/Architecture The assignment was to locate an area in Copenhagen where there is a conflict between the current situation and the municipality’s climate goals for 2015. Next the assignment also asked for analyses and solutions that could either or both solve the conflict and create new spatial possibilities. Copenhagen wants to be the world’s leading bicycle city. The city already has a quite extensive bicycle network. The project proposal therefore deals with how bicycles can have more spatial and social influence in the city. Svanemøllen train station was mapped out as focus area for the project, mainly because the bicycle route through the traffic junction at Fisketorvet shopping centre and over to Vesterbro is today unclear and inefficient. 15km/h Architecture is about extending the vocabulary used in describing city bicycling. It proposes that a bicycle ride can include a wider spectre of experiences and possibilities, such as shopping, culture and nature.

Lilleø Lilleø is a small island south of Sealand, known in Denmark for its fruit production. In later years there has also been established a small wine production on the island. In connection with the new production there was to be designed a small building that could functions as a combined meeting and dining facility. The building has a open facade towards the sun and the wine ranks in the south while it’s closed off against the cold winds from the west and the north. The meeting room on the first floor opens up for a close connection with the production itself, while the dining area on the second floor have a more exclusive atmosphere with a broad view towards the sea. On the roof there is a public viewing area, while in basement there is a kitchen and small scale production facilities. 30

Body container Body container is project that set focus on the relation between the human body and its surroundings, both physically and mentally. The concept for the installation in 1:1 is the need for protection when people and animals feel vulnerable. The installation seeks to find a balance between shelter and overview.

Utopia
3rd year/ Urbanism
Utopia The assignment was to create a sustainable welfare utopia, in a Scandinavian context, that could foster new urban qualities. In the assignment there were some set criteria’s; a sustainable use of local resources, a floor area ratio above 200% and a mixed use building programme. In the project we were encouraged to create our proposal through models and to present the project in a final 1:200 model. The proposal emphasizes a higher utilization of existing resources. The term resources ranging from the city’s existing building structures to our private living space. We propose to keep all of the larger existing buildings and transform them from storage facilities to public space. The public space is intended to offer the inhabitants, people working and visitor’s new and extended resource and spatial possibilities. This could again reduce personal use and needs. It also suggests new urban spaces that would enhance and promote new relations between people and businesses. The housing and commercial programme is placed around the public space. The plots for the private programme are divided into smaller and differentiated plots to promote a diverse programme and spatial solutions.
