It is presumed that all floor bidders have inspected the lots prior to bidding. Therefore, lots purchased by floor bidders are sold "AS IS" and may not be returned. Floor bidders include those bidders acting as agents for others. Due to possible mishandling of items by subsequent owners, the Auctioneer reserves the right to describe items differently than shown on certificates from any certification service that accompany the items. Describing and grading are an art, not a science, and therefore the descriptions provided in this catalog may not agree with the opinion of others (including trained experts), and the same expert may not describe and grade the same stamp with the same description and grade at two different times. Description and grading standards have changed in the past, and as time passes and market conditions changed over the years, they may do so again in the future. If any dispute arises in this context, the Auctioneer retains the right to the final resolution of the matter. For lots that requested extension, Phila China will submit the item to a mutually-acceptable expertizer, providing that: 1) The lot will be paid for in full plus all charges for expertizing, including postage, mail registration, insurance and handling at the time of purchase, and 2) The expertizer can provide a written opinion within 30 days of the auction date. All costs and charges for expertization are the sole responsibility and liability of the buyers. All lots containing more than two items may not be returned under any circumstances. FOR MORE INFORMATION
If you are unable to attend an auction in person, and wish to place bids, you may consider instructing Phila China Limited's Bid Department to bid on your behalf. Upon receiving your written instructions, our representative will make every effort possible to try to acquire the lot(s) of your choice at the lowest price possible, and never to exceed the top limit you indicate. This service is complimentary and with strict confidence. Phila China Limited offers this value-added service as a convenience to our clients who are unable to attend the auction, however, Phila China Limited will not be held responsible for error, omission or failure to execute bids.
To place bids, please use the absentee bid form provided in the catalog. Be sure to accurately record the lot number(s) and the top price you are willing to pay for each lot. "Buy" bids will not be accepted. Always indicate a "top limit" - the amount to which you would bid if you were attending the auction yourself.
Bids may be placed by telephone, but are accepted subject to Phila China Limited's discretion and are at caller's risk. At the sole discretion of Phila China Limited, telephone bids may be recorded. By bidding on the telephone, prospective purchasers consent thereto.
To place telephone bids, or for further information, please call our Head of Auctions, Ms Amy Yung, at +852 25 300 100.
Alternative bids should be indicated by using the word "OR" between lot numbers. If your bid on an early lot is successful, we will not continue to bid on other lots for you. Or, if your early bids are unsuccessful, we will continue to execute bids for alternative lots until a bid is successful. Bids must always be placed in the same order as the lot numbers appear in the catalog.
BUYER'S PREMIUM The "top limit" you indicate on your bid form is for the hammer price only. A 15% buyer's premium will be added to the successful bid price for each lot you buy and is payable by you.
SUCCESSFUL BIDS Each absentee bid form should contain bids for one auction only; the auction code number should appear in the top left-hand corner of the form. Please place your bids as early as possible. In the event of identical bids, the earliest received will take precedence.
Successful bidders will be notified and invoiced within a few days of the auction. All paid-subscribing bidders will receive a list of auction results.
