Henry Zheng, PYAO Concertmaster

Henry Zheng is currently a sophomore at West Windsor-Plainsboro High School South, New Jersey. He began playing violin at the age of five with Paul Manulik at the Princeton String Academy. Starting from summer 2014, he studies with Nancy Wilson, a faculty of the Music Department at Princeton University. Henry was a winner of the New Jersey Music Teachers Association (NJMTA) Young Musicians Competition. He served as concertmaster for the Pro Arte Orchestra at the Youth Orchestra of Central Jersey (YOCJ). Currently, he is the concertmaster of the Philadelphia Young Artists Orchestra (PYAO). In 2018 and 2019, Henry was selected to perform for Princeton Symphony Orchestra (PSO) BRAVO! violin masterclasses with Ilya Kaler and Rachel Barton Pine, respectively. He was also invited to play at the PSO Gala in 2019 Henry volunteers as a private teacher for the Trenton Youth Orchestra (TYO), an outreach program of Princeton University. His hobbies include listening to classical music and reading Calvin and Hobbes comics.
