CIL CIL Pool Pool Complex Complex Location: Berkeley, CA
This “new age gym and pool complex provides therapy for the community by implementing warm pools, yoga, mediation, stretching, and more.
CIL CIL Pool Pool Complex Complex
The natural ten foot grade change provides private, secure, rooms while the folded concrete shell houses other needed spaces.
A glass canopy covers most of the structure below, using different types of smart glazing and mesh systems where sun control is needed.
CIL CIL Pool Pool Complex Complex
The lower level is very public and never closes while the areas above and away from the street sucessively become more private.

Deployable Lab Unit Location: Delta, CA
For this project we needed to make a lab unit small enough to fit on a semi trailer, but deploy large enough, on-site, to house multiple scientists complete with work and test areas. As a starting point, I studied a lizard and analyzed its movement, focusing on its spine. With a video of a lizard running on a treadmill, I took iterations of its spinal movement in both plan and section, then sketched them out.
Deployable Deployable Lab Lab Unit Unit
I took 3 iterations of the lizard running and sketched them side by side with the top row in section and the bottom row in plan. After drawing the spines, I found multiple vertices of the curved spine and from there drew lines through the vertices to their respective vertebre they linked to.

Modular Classroom
Location: Los Angeles, CA
This modular classroom is built from a kit of parts which has the ability to adapt to various orientations given a specific environment by using the adjustable panels in each module.

These shadow masks, calculated with a LOFSAC (sun angle calculator) and trigonometry, show how much sun each window gets throughout a whole year. With help from these shading masks, we can ensure adaquate lighting and optimal energy efficiency.
