Coconuts Grove Village Master Plan Ben Tre is in the Mekong Delta and is known for its coconut groves and sweet coconut candies. The site overlooks the scenic confluence of the Ben Tre and Ham Luong Rivers and is connected to a newly-constructed river promenade, just across the bridge from Ben Tre City. The challenge for this master plan is to protect and improve a system of canals that are crucial to the local ecology. It does so by creating a framework that reinforces the importance of the canals which in turn animate open spaces around clustered housing. As a counterpoint, a mixed use village center is carefully oriented so that its shopping street and river’s-edge public square provide spectacular views of sunset over the Mekong Delta. Area 46 hectares. mixed use village center, 5-star hotel, 250 private villas and 400 multi-level residential units.
