Modelong Filipina 2012: Isang pasasalamat Natapos rin ang mahabaang paghahanda para sa patimpalak na ‘Search for Modelong Filipina 2012’ noong ika-18 ng Marso sa Nogata Kumin Hall, Tokyo. Bagamat inulan ang patimpalak, marami pa rin sa mga kasapi ng Filipino Community ang dumating upang magbigay ng suporta sa mga naggagandahang mga kasali. At nang matapos ang kwentahan ng mga grado, tinanghal na panalo ang dalagang mula sa Nueva Ecija na si Princess Ayeza Magsalin. Kanyang ipinakita ang tunay na pagka-elegante ng mga Pilipina. Si Princess ay isa sa mga contestants na sumali sa aming patimpalak at nagpaligsahan sa kakayanang mag-modelo sa entablado. Napili rin ang dalaga na may pinakamahusay na talento nang siya ay kumanta ng awiting ‘Hawak Kamay’ habang tinutugtugan ang sarili sa gitara. Maliban sa pagkakaibigan na nabuo sa loob ng paligsahan, nakita rin ang tulungan ng mga magkakaibigan upang ipakita ang suporta sa naging programa. Sa dami ng mga volunteer staff, nabuo ang programa ng walang gaanong
problema. Nagpapasalamat kami sa lahat ng naging sponsors, donors at maging sa mga nagbigay ng regalo para sa mga papremyo. Sa mga tumutulong sa ground, at sa backstage, at sa entrance, maraming maraming salamat po. Ang patimpalak na ito ay nabuo upang bigyan ng pagkakataon ang mga kabataang ito na mailabas ang kanilang talento sa pagmomodelo, at upang ipakita na ang mga kababaihang Pilipina ay may mataas na reputasyon sa sosyodad, taliwas sa sinasabi ng mas marami. Kaya naman ipinaglalaban ng patnugot ng Philippine Digest na ito ang dapat itaguyod na alituntunin ng mga opisyal ng PDRC ang grupong binuo namin upang makasama sa pag-buo ng programang ito. Layon namin ng bigyan ng magandang kinabukasan ang mga kadalagahang ito sa larangang kanilang kinahihiligan, kayat gumagawa pa rin ang patnugot ng mga susunod na programa upang lalo pang pagyamanin ang mga kasali sa patimpalak na ito. Muli, ang aming buong pusong pagpapasalamat sa lahat.

abandera ngayon sa himpapawid ang makamandag na kagandahan sa pagbubukas ng TV5 ng kanilang pinakabagong telerserye, at ito ay pinangungunahan ni Arci Mu単oz na unang nakilala sa reality show na StarStruck. Noong nakaraang taon, ang magandang dalaga ay lumipat sa bakuran ng TV5 sa kanyang pagpirma ng eksklusibong dalawang taong kontrata dito. Pursigido ngayon ang management ni Arci na pinangungunahan ni Anabelle Rama at ngayon ang big Boss ng Vic del Rosario Viva na full blast sila ngayon upang mapaangat ang career ng batang artista.

TV5 launches afternoon soap, Felina PGNL/TV5 International
TV5 is undeniably gearing it up this 2012 as it launched more than a dozen programs in the �irst quarter of the year. The major upgrade is in line with the networks goal of providing quality programs that appeal to many Filipinos.
The Kapatid Network beefs up its afternoon block by launching two soap operas, a �irst for the network. One of which is the enchanting fantasy series, Felina.
Felina is a story of a beautiful girl with a curse. Cursed before birth, Felina is born with cat features. Because of this, her scheming aunt switches her with another baby. She grows up unaccepted,
feared, unloved and most of all, deceived as to who her real parents are. But on her 18th birthday, she is surprised to discover that she has transformed into a beautiful woman. Felina eventually learns to accept that her curse is also a gift as she helps other people, even giving up one of her nine lives.
Playing the title role of Felina is TV5 princess Arci Munoz. Completing the cast are Aaron Villena, Leandro Munoz, Carla Humphries, Jestoni Alarcon, Bing Loyzaga, Angel Jacob, Pilita Corrales, Epi Quizon and Bearwin Meily. Felina is directed by Argel Joseph.

Hindi tinawag na iPad 3, o iPad HD, kung hindi minabuti ng Apple na surpresahin ang mundo at tinawag lamang itong 'New iPad'. Sa kalagitnaan ng espekulasyon at mga tsismis, lumabas ang Apple at ipinakita ang mga bagong features ng all new iPad. Mayroon itong 5 megapixel camera, 4 color retina display at 4G
technology.
Sa kabila ng mga usapan mula sa geek community na lampas 8 megapixel camera na kahalintulad sa iPhone 4S, ang New iPad ay may 5 megapixel camera na kayang kumuha ng FULL HD (1080). Mayroon din itong image processor na kaparis ng Apple cell phone na pumipigil sa paglabo ng mga litrato at video. Siyempre, naroon pa rin ang homebutton sa ibaba ng tablet.

ome thirty leaders of Filipino Community organizations in Japan attended the First Quarter Encounter with FilCom Leaders organized by the Philippine Overseas Labor Of�ice (POLO Tokyo) last Saturday, March 10, 2012 at the Multipurpose Hall of the Philippine Embassy.
Among the organizations represented were Aktibong Samahan ng Kababaihan (ASK) Phil-Jap, Community of Friendly Filipino English Teachers (COFFET), Dabawenyos Organized Society (DOS), Filipina Circle for Advancement and Progress (FICAP), Filipino English Teachers in Japan (FETJ), Hawak Kamay sa Mahal na Ina (HAKMI), Philippine Men’s League (PML), Samahang Pilipino (SP), United Filipinos for Peace and Advancement (UFPA), Inrayog Philippines Dance Troupe, Peace Striders Running Club and Filipino Music Artists in Japan (FMAJ). Also in attendance were Military and Defense Attache Captain Sam Felix and Commercial Attache Froilan Pamintuan who both introduced the services of their respective of�ices. Is it true that the Immigration Control and Refugee Recognition Law has been revised and the permission for permanent residence was removed? My Immigration status is "Spouse/ Child of Japanese National" When, what and how does it change?

please don't be confused by the rumor and be advised of the following: (1) When was it revised? all articles of revised law will be enforced in July 9, 2012 since it has been passed by the parliament on July 15, 2009. (2) Does the permission for permanent residence removed? No, absolutely not. However, a person who has been granted must renew the “resident Card” at the immigration bureau every seven years. (3) What is the “Resident Card”? Certificate of Alien Registration Law was replaced by the new immigration law. Meaning, that the Certificate of Alien registration is replaced by the "residents Card". a “resident Card” is issued not by cities, wards, towns, and villages but by the Immigration Bureau. A Certificate of alien registration Card is deemed to be a "residents Card" through July 9, 2012 to July 8, 2015. That is when you will be granted the application of extension of period of stay at immigration between July 9, 2012 to July 8, 2015, you will be issued your resident Card at that time. (4) How about if there is a change in address? You should notify the municipal office. It means that the change and report of your home only must be filled in the Resident Card by the municipal office, but the change of others (Ex. Name, Nationality, Date, etc) should be reported to the immigration. (5) Is it the same procedure when I will come back to my country? The re-entry permit will be classified into as follows: 1. De-fact reentry permit. This is a new system in the revised law. if your stay outside Japan is within one year, you are not required to apply for reentry permit. That is, you can go out and come back without obtaining a reentry permit if you possess your passport, E/D card and residents card. However, it cannot exceed one year even if you have any special reason (Ex. disease, accident,

Then, he/she will be severely punished for "illegal Employment Fostering Crime.” (6) If that is so, is it impossible to employ an illegal immigrant like me? That's right. The employers will discharge an illegal immigrant and will not employ him after July 9. So you will not be hired.

These include the reason for the requested stay, family circumstances, the applicant’s conduct, situations in Japan and abroad, consideration of humanitarian grounds, and, moreover, the potential impact on other persons without legal status in Japan. When doing so, the following specific matters are taken into account. Positive Elements The following are taken into account as positive elements, in addition to the matters specified in the immigration act, article 50 paragraph 1 items (i) to (iii) (see annex). 1. positive elements to be given particular consideration (1) When one or both of the applicant’s parents are Japanese nationals or special permanent residents. (2) When the applicant supports his/her own child (a legitimate child or an illegitimate child acknowledged by his/her father) born of the applicant and a Japanese national or special permanent resident, and when all of the following requirements are applicable; a. When the child is a minor and unmarried b. When the applicant has parental authority over the child c. When the applicant has lived together with the child in Japan for a significant period of time, has custody of and raises the child (3) When a marriage between the applicant and a Japanese national or special permanent resident has been legally established (Excluding cases in which marriage is feigned or a formal notification of marriage has been submitted with the aim of avoiding deportation), and when both of the following requirements are applicable; a. When the applicant and his or her spouse have cohabited for asignificant period of time as a married couple, and are mutually cooperating with and supporting each other b. When the couple has a child or children, or when there are other reasons to deem that the marriage is stable and mature. (4) When the applicant is living together with his/her own child who is enrolled in an institution of primary or secondary education in Japan (excluding educational institutions in which educa-
tion is given in the child’s own language other than Japanese) and has resided in Japan for a significant period of time, and when the applicant has custody of and raises the child. (5) When the applicant requires treatment in Japan for a serious illness, etc., or when the applicant’s continued presence in Japan is deemed necessary in order to nurse a family member who requires such treatment. 2 Other positive elements (1) When the applicant has appeared in person at a regional immigration bureau to report that he or she is residing in the country without legal status (2) When a marriage between the applicant and a person who resides in Japan under a status of residence specified in Appended Table II (see Annex) has been legally established, and when the applicant falls into the category of the above-mentioned 1 (3) a. and b (3) When the applicant supports his/her own child (a legitimate child or an illegitimate child acknowledged by his/her father) who resides in Japan under a status of residence specified in Appended Table II, and when the applicant falls into every category of the above-mentioned 1 (2) a. to c. (4) When the applicant is a minor and an unmarried child receiving the support of his/her parent who resides in Japan under a status of residence specified in appended Table ii (5) When the applicant has resided in Japan for a considerable period of time and is deemed to be settled in Japan. (6) When there are humanitarian grounds or other special circumstances. Negative Elements Negative elements are as follows; 1. Negative elements to be given particular consideration (1) When the applicant has been punished for a serious crime, etc. (Examples) • When the applicant has been punished with penal servitude for a vicious or serious crime. • When the applicant has been punished for smuggling and illegal trafficking of ‘goods harmful to society’, such as illegal narcotics and firearms. (2) When the applicant has committed an offense related to the core of national administration on immigration control, or has committed a significant antisocial offense. (Examples) • When the applicant has been punished for abetting illegal employment, crimes related to mass stowaway, illegal receipt or issue of passports, etc. • When the applicant has been punished for abetting illegal or fraudulent residence in Japan. • When the applicant has committed an act that significantly compromises the social order of this country, such as personally engaging in prostitution or causing another to engage in prostitution. • When the applicant has committed an act that significantly infringes human rights, such as human trafficking. 2 Other negative elements (1) When the applicant has entered the country illegally by stowing away on a ship, or by using a false passport, etc., or falsifying the status of residence. (2) When the applicant has undergone procedures for deportation in the past. (3) When the applicant is deemed to have committed other violations of penal law or acts of misconduct similar to these. (4) When the applicant has some other problems in the circumstances of his or her residence in Japan. (Example)

Examples in which an application for special permission to stay in Japan is given unfavorable consideration • When the applicant, though living in Japan for at least 20 years and deemed to be settled in Japan, has been punished for crimes such as abetting illegal employment, crimes related to mass stow-away, illegal receipt or issue of passports, etc., and has committed an offense related to the core of national administration on immigration control, or has committed a significant antisocial offense. • When the applicant, though married to a Japanese national, has committed an act that considerably disturbs the social order of this country, such as having others engage in prostitution.

T
he Modelong Filipina 2012 contest pageant crowned on March 18 its first set of models Princess Ayeza Magsalin, Maiko Nakagawa and Naomie Minoru as the Winner, the 1st Runner-up and 2nd Runner-up respectively. Magsalin, a 21-year old native of Nueva Ecija and currently living in Chiba, bagged the first ever Modelong Filipina title as she dominated the 10-lady contest in a four-
category walk contest. She was also chosen to have the best in talent award for singing 'Hawak Kamay' by Yeng Constantino and playing it on guitar at the same time. Meanwhile, Nakagawa who is from Tokyo, came in very close to the score of Magsalin gained the uproar of the crowd due to her relax manner of walking and her confidence on her catwalk. She got the best score in her 'Jeans and Shirt Walk'. Naomie Minoru, who's gentle face qualities and alluring body amazed the
viewers and the judges. She was among the top favorites of both photographers and the crowd. Among the top five were Youki Lorraine Akimoto and Christine Mariz Lagman whose beauty and glamour dazzled the audience. Other contestants included Aya Sekihara, Nicola Charlotte Estrella, Miai Tanaka, Narumi Fujiyoshi and Midori Sakurai. The contest was spearheaded by the Philippine Digest Readers Club and is supported by IPC World, Inc., publisher of the Philippine Digest Magazine.

Nakakatuwa naman at talagang malayo na ang narating nina Jose Manalo at Wally Bayola. Kamakailan lang ay nagkaroon sila ng concert sa Smart Araneta Coliseum at sadyang dinumog ng mga tao ang concert venue. Hindi rin matatawaran ang mga panauhing nagbigay suporta sa dalawa. Jampacked ika nga ang lugar. Naging emosyonal ang dalawa sa bandang huli dahil hindi nila akalain na makakatuntong sila sa stage ng Araneta upang mag-concert. Malaki ang pasasalamat nila kay "Bossing" Vic Sotto at Tony Tuviera dahil sa pagtitiwala at suportang kanilang natanggap. Nakilala ng husto ang dalawa sa segment ng Eat Bulaga ang "Juan for All" na kung saan ay dumadalaw sa bawat barangay ang dalawa at nagbibigay ng biyaya. Ayon naman kay Vic Sotto, ang dedikasyon sa trabaho at talento ng dalawa ang nagtulak sa kanila upang bigyan ng pagkakataon ang dalawa sa concert scene. Maraming mga tagahangang humihiling kung maaari ay magkaroon pa ng part 2 ang concert, marahil dahil na rin sa turn out sa box office ng concert venue ay malamang na magkaroon ng repeat performance. Actually, sinabi nila na noong 2010 pa nila inumpisahan ang pelikulang "Corazon, Ang Unang Aswang" nung ginagawa pa nila ang Magkaribal kaya naman ipinagmamalaki nina Derek at Erich ang pelikula dahil pinaganda ng husto at pinaghandaan talaga upang magustuhan ng mga manonood. Natanong din si Erich ukol sa pagtatrabaho with Derek. Challenged din syempre ako dahil box office star ang katambal ko at alam kong nage-expect ang maraming tao sa pelikula naming ito. Ang maipapangako lamang namin dito ay msisiyahan kayo at magagandahan sa pelikula.

Sa Pilipinas, ito ay tinatawg na "tuwalya" dahil na rin marahil sa mukha itong tuwalya sa hitsura. Ang putaheng Callos ay nagmula sa bansang Espanya pero isa sa popular na pagkain sa ating bansa.

Bulanglang at Pinakbet, ano nga ba ang kaibhan ng dalawa sa isa't isa? Maaaring halos magkapareho ang sangkap subalit ang paraan at paglalasa ng pagluto ay may pagkakaiba. Sa panimula, masasabi nating ang Bulanglang ay recipe ng mga Tagalog at ang Pinakbet naman ay recipe ng mga Ilokano. Ang isa pang pagkakaiba ay ang paraan ng pagluluto, ang Pinakbet
